This role focuses on student formation, character development, discipline, and mentoring, ensuring that students grow in wisdom, responsibility, and self-government. Key Responsibilities School Culture & Virtue Development Promote and model the school's virtues, mission, and classical ideals. Lead initiatives that strengthen school culture and character formation. Partner with faculty to integrate virtue expectations into daily school life. Student Behavior & Discipline Oversee student conduct systems and ensure consistent, fair, and restorative discipline practices. Respond to behavioral concerns and coordinate appropriate interventions. Maintain clear behavioral expectations aligned with school philosophy. Student Mentoring & Formation Provide direct mentorship and guidance to students, especially those needing additional support. Develop systems for student accountability, reflection, and growth. Support advisory or house systems that strengthen relationships and character development. Faculty & Family Partnership Collaborate with teachers to support classroom management and student development. Communicate effectively with families regarding student behavior and growth plans. Serve as a bridge between home, faculty, and administration. Leadership & Systems Help design and refine discipline policies and culture-building structures. Track behavior trends and recommend proactive supports. Hold students and families to school expectations in accordance with the Student and Family Handbook. Qualifications Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree in Education, Educational Leadership, School Counseling, or related field preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in education, student leadership, discipline, counseling, or school administration Demonstrated commitment to character education, student formation, and school culture development Strong ability to manage student behavior with consistency, fairness, and a restorative approach Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and faculty Ability to lead with clarity, calmness, and authority while maintaining a relational approach Alignment with the mission, virtues, and philosophy of Jacksonville Classical Academy All candidates will be required to pass a background check through https://info.flclearinghouse.com/.
