Job Summary The Program Manager in the Centers for Student Engagement (CSE) is responsible for developing, implementing, and assessing co-curricular programs and student leadership initiatives that enhance student involvement, retention, and success. The position collaborates closely with student leaders, campus departments, and community partners to create impactful engagement opportunities, including large-scale events, student organization development, and leadership training. The position ensures alignment with the university's mission to promote student learning, civic engagement, and a sense of belonging Develops heritage and awareness initiatives and engagement opportunities that foster a sense of belonging while addressing the academic, personal, and developmental interests of students served. Manages the designing and implementation of dialogue-focused programming centered on student engagement and success. Counsels students on navigating social, academic, and institutional dynamics to support their developmental growth, campus integration, and overall sense of belonging. Facilitates and evaluates programs, services, and resources provided by the department resulting in the recommendation and implementation of changes in policies, procedures, and practices, as necessary. Advises department leadership on the implementation of programs, new initiatives, and special projects. Collaborates with department leadership and colleagues in the preparation of departmental data and assessment reports. Engages with department leadership and staff to develop budget plans. Monitors expenditures and revenues, as necessary. Manages and provides operational and administrative direction. Establishes priorities, assigns functions, and assures compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and standards. Contributes to management strategy and participates in strategic planning, staffing decisions, policy development, and other key areas. Recruits and supervises student employees, interns, and graduate assistants in accordance with university processes and procedures. Designs and implements a year-round curriculum of training and development for student employees to achieve specified learning outcomes. Determines communication strategy to promote the departmental programs, services, and resources. Presents to student groups, faculty, staff, and administration. Assists in developing partnerships throughout the University and community to achieve program goals and objectives. Participates as a member of various divisional, campus, and university committees and represents the department and the Division of Student Affairs at various community and student functions. . Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialization and four (4) years of related experience, or Master's degree in an appropriate specialization and two (2) years related experience. Desired Qualifications Master's degree in higher education, social psychology, sociology, or another relevant field.
