POSITION OVERVIEW

Admiral Farragut Academy seeks a passionate full-time Dean of Students. The person in this position is responsible for the well-being, character development, grooming, and disciplinary process for students in grades 6 through 12. The Dean of Students manages and oversees attendance, uniform requirements, after-school detention, and student life for all day and boarding school students, as well as promotes a safe learning environment for all students. Other duties include meeting with students and communicating with parents, teachers, and guidance counselors regarding behavioral issues, supervising the lunch and other common areas before, during, and after school, and chaperoning student activities and events. There will also be administrative weekend duties monthly. A Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required, and a Master's degree is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a Dean of Students or similar role is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen required. Ability and willingness to be part of weekend duty rotation during the school year are critical.
