Location Statesboro Campus - Statesboro, GA Department Information The Faculty Center Job Summary Provide overall leadership and vision for creation, administration, and evaluation of comprehensive Faculty Center offices, including projects, programming and initiatives for Center for Teaching Excellence and Academic Professional Development, such as faculty development opportunities focused on evidence-based best practices in leadership training and professional development. Provide a vision of the Faculty Center as a critical contributor to the reduction of equity gaps for faculty by demonstrating flexibility and empathy, and the ability to contribute positively to faculty morale. Direct and manage Faculty Center operations, programs, and personnel. Engage collaboratively with Provost's Office, Office of Institutional Assessment and Accreditation, Office of Research, Academic Student Success offices, and Academic Colleges on university-wide faculty professional development in teaching, research, service, and leadership initiatives. This position has been identified by Federal Law (Jeanne Clery Act) as a Campus Security Authority (CSA), with significant student and campus responsibilities. CSA's are obligated to report crimes reported to them which occurred on campus, in public areas bordering campus and in certain non-campus buildings owned or controlled (leased) by the University. This position is open to internally active employees of Georgia Southern University. Responsibilities Develop creative problem-solving approaches to support faculty success Provide leadership and support for faculty-facing university and USG initiatives Present programs and training workshops to faculty and campus partners Oversee development, coordination and delivery of a range of programs for faculty (e.g., SOTL Conference and Journal, etc¿) Serve on appropriate University and Regents Advisory Committees Collaborate with academic colleges and departments to offer support services to faculty Serve as liaison to other University units Develop, implement, and oversee assessment strategies for the unit Develop and implement strategies and procedures for recruitment, hiring, training, evaluation, and ongoing development of all employees Represent the Faculty Center at University events including orientation, open houses, and recruitment events Manage professional and support staff in delivery of services and programs, and supervise the Faculty Center Assistant/Associate directors Oversee and manage fiscal resources associated with the Center Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Master's Degree from an accredited college or university Other Required Qualifications Three (3) or more years of higher education instruction in discipline of the earned terminal degree Required Experience Five (5) or more years of related work experience Supervisory experience Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications Work in scholarly (i.e., research and/or creative) support or student success in higher education Preferred Experience Experience with restructuring and managing organizational change Proposed Salary $88,000 - $90,000 This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
