INSTITUTIONAL ADVANCEMENT COORDINATOR

General Job Summary:
This is a part-time position located at the Administrative Offices in Estherville. Primary responsibilities are to assist the Executive Director in the development, promotion, implementation, and monitoring of resource development activities, including the Foundations and Alumni Association. This individual will be responsible for coordination and oversight of the scholarship process and fostering positive relations with donors and potential donors, gift processing and directing the activities and promotion of the Alumni & Friends Association. The successful candidate must be a detail-oriented, team player and possess exceptional organizational, computer, leadership, written and oral communication skills. Key attributes include the ability to effectively and persuasively articulate (verbal/written) the needs of the College/Foundation, ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy. An individual possessing a high-energy level, who is self-motivated and goal-oriented, will enjoy this position.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

OF THE TIME
): Constant (67-100%) Oversee and manage the Iowa Lakes Scholarship Program (donor stewardship; update donor files and collaborate with Financial Aid Office; NextGen Software). Manage and monitor multiple scholarship budgets. Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with various clients of the College - ranging from students, employees, volunteers and boards to individuals and businesses in our communities. Understand, direct, and ensure the maintenance and usage of the Institutional Advancement database utilizing its systems/programs to expand the donor pool through communications and solicitation to increase giving. Collaborate with the Admissions Team, Retention Specialist and Financial Aid to strengthen the connection among all components of the College to enhance student recruitment and retention. Frequent (34-66%) Assist in marketing/promoting the College and the Foundation to alumni and friends of the College; assist in the development strategies to cultivate targeted individuals or groups. Facilitate good donor relations by representing the Institutional Advancement Office at functions and meetings as assigned and working with donors and potential donors, alumni, students, friends, and various constituencies of the College to strengthen their ties to Iowa Lakes. Update print materials, campaign literature, website, etc. Provide support to schedule, collate director packets and other correspondence for the Executive Director. Assist Executive Director with compilation of annual and quarterly reports, including graphs, charts and Power Point presentations as requested by the Executive Director. Occasional (10-33%) Attend meetings and special events as well as serve on selected committees as requested by the Executive Director (will involve some evenings and weekends). Assist in developing short and long-term planning for the Institutional Advancement Office and stimulate development of funding proposals. Performing all other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must be enthusiastic and energetic in performance of assigned duties and responsibilities. Ability to handle numerous projects simultaneously. Develop a fundamental knowledge of trusts, donation options, fundraising terminology, etc. Computer literacy: word processing, database, or spreadsheet software. High degree of accuracy. Willingness to learn and serve as lead on proprietary software used by the department, i.e. Ellucian/Colleague/NextGen. Commitment to donor cultivation and stewardship. Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally and deliver oral presentations and solicitations. Flexible to travel, plus work evenings and weekends when necessary. Represent the College in a positive manner to employees, students, visitors, and the general public. Demonstrates ability to utilize correct English, grammar, punctuation, and arithmetic.
SPECIAL DEMANDS
Sedentary to light work. Position involves sitting most of the time, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally (10-33%). Stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, and pulling occasionally (10-33%). Walking, lifting, and grasping frequently (34-66%). Talking, hearing, viewing various types of close visual work and repetitive motion constantly (67-100%). Required to travel utilizing personal vehicle. Employment with Iowa Lakes Community College is dependent upon successful passage of a criminal background check. Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without employer sponsorship. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate Degree required. Bachelor's Degree in business, sales, marketing, or communication preferred. 3-5 years of experience in institutional advancement, foundation development, fundraising and/or alumni relations desired. Evidence of creativity, self-directed initiative and enthusiasm.
Salary:
$23.88 per hour
