Director, Summer Camp Empty Hand Combat/Nampa's Best Summer Camp Nampa, ID Job Details Temporary $18 - $20 an hour 4 hours ago Qualifications Teamwork Classroom experience Classroom behavior management Teaching Full Job Description Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and dedicated Director to lead our summer camp programs from May to August 7 (with the possibility to stay on afterwards as afterschool director), ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children and students. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for childhood development, exceptional leadership skills, and a comprehensive understanding of classroom management and behavior management strategies. As the Director, you will oversee daily operations, foster a positive community atmosphere, and collaborate with staff, parents, and stakeholders to promote growth and learning. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young lives while managing a dynamic team committed to excellence in education and childcare. Duties o Attending weekly and quarterly staff training. o Leading weekly staff training. o Supporting coaching staff and filling in as required. o Opening and or closing facility. (Depends on shift.) o Completing end of day director checklist. o Assisting the team with cleaning duties to ensure "tour readiness." o Maintain positive parent, student, and staff relationships. o Ensure all equipment, crafts, and cleaning supplies are stocked. o Disciplinary enforcement (Staff/Student) if needed. o Make staff schedules and report hours worked. o Updating social media 2x per day. o Implement trial and new student onboarding system o Implement new hire onboarding system o Ensure that educational worksheets are printed. o Administer all student medications. o Process new student registrations and event registrations. o Make sure that the sign in and sign out sheet is complete and up to date. o Call parents for any injuries or behavioral problems. o Report any maintenance or facility issues. o Make sure that daily schedules are being followed. o Host end of day dismissal for students. Check IDs of persons picking up students. o Give tours to new prospects. o Answer and educate prospects on programs. o File all sign in/sign out paperwork at the end of week. o Place orders for gear, supplies, etc. o Daily debrief with CEO Experience Proven experience in early childhood education or childcare administration with a focus on classroom management and behavior management strategies. Demonstrated expertise working with children across various age groups in settings such as daycare centers, camps, tutoring programs, or special education environments. Strong background in supervising staff members involved in teaching, babysitting, sports coaching, theater activities or similar roles dedicated to working with students. Familiarity with childhood development principles as well as safety protocols including first aid certification. Excellent leadership skills combined with the ability to manage multiple programs efficiently while fostering teamwork and community engagement.
