Position Title:
Assistant Director of the
Multicultural Center Compensation:
$41,000 - $46,000.

Multicultural Ctr About this opportunity: This position provides an opportunity to serve as a key student-facing leader within the Multicultural Center, supporting initiatives that enhance student engagement, belonging, and success. The role integrates program development and coordination, mentorship supervision, and campus collaboration to deliver impactful educational experiences and support services. Working in partnership with the Director, the Assistant Director contributes to strategic planning initiatives, oversees graduate staff, and serves as a primary resource for student support, leadership development, and student organization advising. Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship. What you'll do and what you'll bring:
Position Function:
Represent the Multicultural Center at various events; coordinate campus-wide educational and awareness programs; supervise mentor program, especially in the absence of the Director. Duties & Responsibilities 1. Coordinate and oversee mentorship programs designed to support first-year student transition. 2. Plan and coordinate departmental programs and events. 3. Develop and coordinate all office publications and publicity. 4. Supervise graduate assistants. 5. Collect and compile data on activities of the office for the development of reports. 6. Serve as a resource and referral agent for students with personal or academic concerns. 7. Coordinate and collaborate with other campus and academic departments in providing programs in alignment with the university's Strategic Plan. 8. Represent the Center at Preview Days, Summer Orientation, and other Admission's functions as assigned. 9. Support the Director in developing retention strategies for students. 10. Develop and implement award and recognition activities. 11. Provide guidance, counsel, and advisement to students and student organizations. 12. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience working in higher education with student support and success. Evidence of skills in programming, organization, communication, advising and program development.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related fields. At least one year of a graduate assistantship or professional experience in higher education in student affairs administration; experience working with college students; experience working with student organizations; experience with intervention strategies for student success.
