Director, International Student & Scholar Services ‌

Role:
The Director is responsible for the administration of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), which includes the recruitment of non-U.S. citizens; foreign credential evaluations and transfer equivalencies; immigration processing and advising for international students, staff, and faculty; and the development and delivery of various programs that support internationalization, training, and education within the university community. The Director also serves as the University's Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) and Responsible Officer (RO), and as such supervises Designated School Officials (DSOs) and Alternate Responsible Officers (AROs). ‌ Primary Responsibilities Serve as Principal Designated School Official ( PDSO ) Ensure that NKU is maintaining compliance with required Student and Exchange Visitor's Information System ( SEVIS ) guidance, particularly for any students, staff, faculty and scholars with F-1, J-1, H-1B, P-3, TN, and Lawful Permanent Resident status. Responsible to the U.S. Government for I-20 and DS-2019 issuance. Serve as Responsible Officer (RO) in SEVIS for all students on J-1 status and SEVIS reporting requirements. Research, develop, and implement the overall international student recruitment strategy, along with the Executive Director of CGEIA and the international student recruiter(s). Travel domestically and internationally for recruitment purposes as appropriate. Manage the international student admissions processing team and oversee the workflow for the entire admissions process for international students planning to join any American English Language Program ( AELP ) or degree-seeking programs. Develop ways to streamline overall ISSS processes in order to increase productivity, improve customer service, reduce errors, and ensure a student-centered approach to operations. Responsible for reports on student enrollment numbers, budget allocations, and travel. Manage and train all Designated School Officials (DSOs) and Alternate Responsible Officers (AROs). Qualifications Bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in international student and scholar services, international admissions, enrollment management, or a related field required. Minimum of four years of supervisory or management experience required. Demonstrated knowledge of federal immigration regulations and compliance requirements related to international students, scholars, and employees, including SEVIS reporting and visa categories such as F-1, J-1, H-1B, and TN. Experience with international student recruitment, admissions, enrollment management, and foreign credential evaluation practices. Demonstrated ability to serve as the university's Principal Designated School Official ( PDSO ) and Responsible Officer (RO) in compliance with federal regulations. Strong leadership and supervisory skills, including experience developing professional staff and student employees. Strong analytical and organizational skills, including experience preparing reports, analyzing enrollment data, and managing operational or budget-related information. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships with students, faculty, staff, external agencies, and international partners. Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and effectively manage sensitive student and immigration matters. Commitment to fostering an inclusive, student-centered environment that supports the success and retention of international students and scholars. Experience with CRM and student information systems, recruitment platforms, social media, and Microsoft Office applications preferred.
