ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Public Programming Strategy & Development Lead the overall vision, strategy, and execution of the MAC's public programming for adult audiences Design, develop, and continuously refine innovative programs, including speaker series, cultural events, and community-centered experiences Evaluate existing programming and implement improvements to increase impact, accessibility, and audience engagement Ensure all programming aligns with the mission and strategic priorities of the Muhammad Ali Center Event Leadership & Production Serve as the primary lead for the planning and execution of large-scale public events Apply strong event production expertise to deliver high-quality, mission-driven experiences for diverse audiences Oversee logistics, timelines, vendors, and cross-departmental coordination to ensure successful event delivery Partnership Development & Community Engagement Cultivate and sustain strategic relationships with community organizations, cultural institutions, sponsors, and civic partners Identify and develop new partnership opportunities that expand program reach and relevance Represent the Center in community collaborations and external engagement efforts Membership & Development Collaboration Partner with the Development team to design programming that attracts new members and strengthens retention Create programmatic touchpoints that deepen engagement with existing members and enhance overall member experience Support initiatives that connect programming outcomes to fundraising and institutional advancement goalsSpecialized Program Leadership Lead and manage the Ali Center Elders Program, focused on reducing social isolation and fostering meaningful connection among older adults Design intentional programming that promotes belonging, dignity, and intergenerational engagement Team Leadership & Organizational Support Supervise programming staff, including training, support, and performance evaluation Support cross-departmental initiatives, including education programs, DEIA efforts, tours, and special projects as needed Contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team culture
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree required Experience in public programming, event production, museum education, or related field
Required Skills/Abilities:
Demonstrated experience designing and executing public programs for adult audiences Strong event planning and production capabilities, including large-scale public events Ability to develop and sustain strategic partnerships across sectors Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with comfort engaging diverse communities Creative thinker with ability to develop new program concepts and improve existing models Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously Strong analytical and evaluative skills, including program assessment and audience data interpretation Demonstrated ability to align programming with institutional goals such as membership and development

WORKING & PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
This role operates within a multi-level facility and requires the ability to navigate the space and assist with exhibit and display setup as needed. The Muhammad Ali Center is ADA compliant and provides reasonable accommodations in accordance with applicable laws. Primarily office-based (8:30 AM-5:00 PM), with required flexibility for evenings, weekends, and events Regular on-site presence required for program and event execution Must be able to sit, stand, and move for extended periods during events Occasional lifting of materials up to five pounds or more May require local travel for partnerships, events, and program delivery Must be able to manage high-stress, fast-paced event environments while maintaining professionalism The Muhammad Ali Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity in all forms.
