Full-Time Job Summary Xavier University of Louisiana is seeking to hire an Associate Director of Student Success. This
position reports to the Director for Academic Success in the Student Academic Success Office (SASO), will play a play a pivotal role in
providing oversight for student success and retention efforts with a focus on targeted student populations, including students. The
Associate Director will collaborate with members of the university community to identify effective strategies to support students who need
additional support in their educational pursuits. Xavier University of Louisiana is particularly interested in candidates who have
experience working with students from diverse backgrounds and who have demonstrated commitment to improving access to higher education for
disadvantaged and first-generation students. AA/EOE Job Description/Duties In
collaboration with the Director of Student Success, develop and foster a shared student academic success and retention model with measurable
productivity standards, goals and outcomes.
In collaboration with the SASO Team, provide leadership for academic bridge and
transfer programs/initiatives, including the Mellon Transfer Immersion Program, Summer Start Institute, and the Achieve Dual Enrollment
Program, planning, programming, and completing quarterly and annual reports.
Provide oversight for transfer student efforts,
including serving as their primary advisor to strengthen and improve the transfer process.
Collaborate with other institutional
departments with developing, planning, and implementing student success initiatives in the areas related to student onboarding and improving
student outcomes.
Work closely with the Director for Student Academic Success to identify barriers and challenges that may impede
students' abilities to succeed.
Provide quarterly and annual reports to identify success trends and evaluate student academic
performance levels.
Coordinate departmental communication campaigns and efforts to increase student retention, persistence, and
degree completion.
Represent the Student Academic Success Office on local, regional, and national committees.
Maintain
excellent working knowledge of university policies, academic regulations and degree requirements.
Other related duties as
assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited institution in counseling
and guidance, college student personnel, educational administration, student affairs, or related field.
At least 3 years of
progressive experience in academic advising and student retention (with at least 2 years in a higher education environment).
Proven
track record of creating, managing, and implementing academic support programs and services, including creating reports and data
management.
Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders (students, colleagues, administrators), both verbally and
in writing.
Must possess diplomacy, confidentiality, and strong relationship-building skills.
Exceptional interpersonal
skills, especially with students.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products and Google platforms.
Must be
detailed oriented and student centered. Preferred Qualifications Doctoral degree from an
accredited institution in counseling and guidance, college student personnel, educational administration, student affairs, or related
field.
Experience managing and monitoring transfer student progression and other support groups
Experience with community
outreach initiatives for educational support programs.
Managerial experience in higher education
Knowledge of advising
theory and models of development advising.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly
collaborative environment.
Excellent oral, written communication skills, and organizational skills.
Excellent
organizational and problem-solving skills.
Experienced with managing social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, or
Twitter).
Extensive database management skills.
Working knowledge of Banner, EAB Student Navigate, and Degree Works Special Requirements Summary Local and regional travel may be required.
Full-Time, 40
Hours/Week.
