Job Description

Montserrat College of Art is seeking an experienced and team-oriented higher education professional to serve as our next Assistant Director of Admissions. Under the supervision of the Dean of Admissions, the Assistant Director of Admissions is responsible for building and enhancing various internal and external relationships that have a direct impact on the colleges enrollment efforts. The Assistant Director is specifically responsible for managing our 2+2, articulation, and dual enrollment agreements as well as maintaining MOUs with various art organizations, and supporting digital messaging/communication efforts with applicants, families, and educators. This position will oversee the Colleges non-traditional admissions programs, including the Summer Art Educator Institute, as well as transfer/degree completion applications. The Assistant Director is also a thought partner, working with the Dean and broader College administration on enhancing our outreach efforts to potential students, schools, and communities.
Key responsibilities:
Develop, update, and maintain the colleges 2+2 Articulation Agreements, while building relationships with Community College art department chairs.

Develop and maintain relationships with high school art educators as it relates to recruitment and programming.

Serves as a primary contact for prospective Transfer students and their families relative to their interest in the College.

In conjunction with the Dean of Admissions, maintain and lead the communication strategy for the promotion of the BFA program, including, but not limited to, summer programs such as Pre College and the Art Educator Institute. The communication strategy includes email, print, social, and event promotion.

Plan and coordinate general communications (letters, phone calls, emails, etc.) from the Admissions office to meet relevant timelines typically through the Slate CRM system.

In conjunction with the Dean of Admissions and other key departments, oversee major functions of Montserrats Art Educator Summer Institute as it relates to recruitment and Summer Institute program administration.

Build and cultivate relationships with specialized art programs through a variety of workshops, information sessions and other engagement activitiesDevelop and implement specialized programming to targeted audiences to support Montserrats overall enrollment goals In conjunction with the Dean of Admissions and the Admissions team, plan on
  • and off-campus admissions eventsRepresent the College at a variety of on

  • campus events including transfer fairs, college fairs, portfolio days, school visits, art education conferences, and on-campus admissions events.
Seasonal local, regional, and national travel (surface and air) is required including weekends and evenings, during the fall and spring recruiting seasonFacilitate on-campus tours, typically lead by student tour guides or counselors, and lead tours as needed.

Helping to maintain and update applications items in Slate CRMPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum qualificationsBachelors degree required, Masters preferred, preferable in an art/design, marketing, communication related field. 3-6 years of experience in higher education/admission/office work.
