To Be Determined Job Description Reports to: Head of School Our program is seeking a Director of Post-Secondary Advancement, Student Support, and Operations to manage the day-to-day operations of a two-site program and to guide the academic intervention, behavior support, and wraparound services staff, with a focus on student-centered learning, trauma-informed leadership, and successful transition outcomes. They are responsible for ensuring the consistency, efficiency, and safety of both campuses and for coordinating data-driven support services for all high-needs learners while building a safe, structured, and restorative justice-based school culture and climate. The Director of Post-Secondary Advancement, Student Support and Operations also collaborates with community organizations, workforce programs, and outside agencies that offer enrichment and youth development opportunities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic Advancement, Student Support, and Transition Success Coordinate the implementation of action-oriented, solution-focused, and data-driven interventions for students experiencing attendance, academic, behavioral, and conduct-related challenges. Develop and monitor individualized student success plans focused on credit attainment, academic growth, graduation readiness, and successful transition outcomes. Support and supervise staff responsible for academic interventions, behavioral supports, and wraparound services. Meet individually with students to develop intervention plans, behavior goals, and pathways toward re-engagement. Co-chair the Student Support Team and facilitate regular meetings with counselors, social workers, clinicians, and instructional staff to address student needs holistically. Review attendance, academic, behavior, and transition data regularly to identify trends, deploy supports, and monitor progress. Coordinate student recognition systems that celebrate academic growth, attendance improvement, citizenship, and personal milestones. Oversee after-school tutoring, credit recovery, detention, and re-engagement supports. Assist in transition planning for students entering, reentering, or exiting the program, including collaboration with sending and receiving schools, DYS, hospitals, and district partners. Operations and Multi-Site Management Manage the day-to-day operations of a two-site program, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and strong communication across locations. Foster a safe, positive, and structured learning environment through restorative systems and clear expectations. Oversee disciplinary protocols, including bullying, harassment, and code of conduct violations, while prioritizing restorative responses when appropriate. Serve as liaison between school sites and district offices regarding safety, emergency preparedness, fire drills, transportation, and facilities. Manage staff duty schedules, classroom coverage systems, arrival/lunch/dismissal procedures, and site supervision plans. Coordinate student intake, enrollment, orientation, and reentry systems. Manage facilities needs and ensure both campuses are welcoming, functional, and student-ready. Academic Program Implementation Support implementation of the school's student-centered academic model, including personalized learning, project-based learning, competency-based learning, and flexible pacing. Monitor academic assessment systems including MAP, formative assessments, authentic performance tasks, and progress toward mastery. Collaborate with teachers, specialists, and leadership to ensure instructional programming meets the needs of high-needs learners. Support classroom systems that promote engagement, attendance, and ownership of learning. Partnerships and Family Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with families through clear, culturally responsive, and solution-oriented communication. Establish and sustain partnerships with community organizations, workforce programs, counseling agencies, and youth-serving organizations. Coordinate outside resources that expand student access to enrichment, wellness, mentoring, and transition supports. Serve as a visible and trusted point of contact for students, families, staff, and community partners. Budget, Data, and Strategic Planning Support management of program budgets, grants, stipends, purchase orders, and partnership resources. Develop systems for collecting and analyzing data related to attendance, school climate, behavior, academic growth, wellness, and transitions. Use data to identify systemic challenges, refine systems, and drive continuous improvement. Partner with the Head of School on strategic planning, staffing, and program development priorities. Leadership and Team Responsibilities Serve as a member of the leadership team and support instructional, operational, and student support decision-making. Participate in professional learning and staff development aligned to alternative education, trauma-informed practice, and leadership growth. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of School to ensure the successful operation of the program.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • REQUIRED:
    Hold a Bachelor's degree in a related field Minimum 5 years or more of general management experience in an educational setting Current authorization to work in the United States

Unions and Grade/Step NOTE:
School-based Managerial employees will work 223 days each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 183 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school. School-based Managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time. In the event of school cancellation due to snow or inclement weather, school-based Managerial employees need not report to work.
