The Assistant Director of Stewardship exercises independent judgment and strategic oversight in developing and producing donor impact and endowment reports that convey the outcomes and significance of philanthropic investment at the University. The position leads the scholarship reporting process and develops tracking and reporting systems that improve operational efficiency. Combining analytical insight, communication strategy, and creative design, this role plays a key part in reinforcing donor confidence and the University's reputation for transparency and stewardship excellence.Responsibilities:
Lead production of fund usage and impact reports for annual endowment and restricted fund reporting, ensuring high standards of accuracy, clarity, and storytelling; collaborate with University of Baltimore Foundation staff to refine fund usage reporting processes. Manage scholarship reporting and coordinate the annual scholarship books in partnership with Financial Aid, the University of Baltimore Foundation, and Advancement colleagues. Design and maintain systems for tracking report deliverables and donor expectations; analyze outcomes and recommend improvements. Provide content for and collaborate with Advancement communications staff to produce and distribute the University's annual Investment and Impact Report. Design and analyze fund reporting questionnaires to gather donor feedback and interpret results to guide future reporting cycles.Minimum Qualifications:

One year of professional experience in fundraising, development, donor relations, nonprofit management, communications, or a related professional field. Experience in a role that interacts with donors, alumni, and/or volunteers. Proficiency with MS Office Suite and CRM donor management systems. Proven complex project management experience. Basic proficiency with design and layout tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or equivalent platforms used for donor-facing materials.Preferred Qualifications:
Experience:
Two years of progressively responsible experience in advancement, communications, or nonprofit management. Raiser's Edge and/or NXT experience. Advanced Excel proficiency with experience managing, segmenting, and analyzing data. Experience producing or editing donor impact reports or similar collateral using programs like Adobe InDesign, Canva, or other design and publishing tools.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven ability to communicate with clarity, tact, and diplomacy, building strong professional relationships with university leaders, colleagues, and diverse stakeholders. Strong analytical and quantitative skills to interpret financial and programmatic data. Exceptional editorial judgement, writing, and synthesis skills to communicate philanthropic impact clearly and effectively to varied audiences. Ability to apply design and layout expertise using tools such as Canva, Adobe Express, or InDesign to create donor reports and communications that enhance clarity, visual impact, and storytelling quality, while ensuring alignment with the University's brand and style guidelines. Project management expertise with ability to lead multi-departmental reporting cycles. Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritizing and managing multiple projects with competing deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail. High degree of judgment, discretion, and accountability when handling sensitive donor information. Exceptional work ethic, flexible, collaborative mindset, and track record of personal initiative. Adept at problem-solving and using judgment in situations requiring independent initiative and tact. Proficiency with MS Office Suite and CRM donor management systems (e.g., Raiser's Edge, NXT, Salesforce). Knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, the internal workings of the University as well as the skills to effectively utilize technology tools available to the OAER. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be required for events or project deadlines.
