To be determined at the time of hire We are seeking an Awards Program Manager who will lead the programmatic management and execution of major institutional research funding initiatives within the Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR), with primary responsibility for flagship university funding programs. The Awards Program Manager will play a central role in operationalizing these efforts, ensuring rigorous and efficient processes across the full award lifecycle. This position will initially report to the Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives in OVPR and will work closely with senior university leadership, faculty, deans, external advisors, and internal stakeholders across the university. Given the scale, visibility, and complexity of this portfolio, this role requires a highly organized, proactive professional with strong program management experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple high-stakes processes simultaneously. While this position is considered remote, the ideal candidate should be local to Baltimore/DC for required in-person presentations, meetings, and events. Specific Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for setting goals and planning to meet program objectives. Develop, maintain, and oversee timelines for all special activities, ensuring timely completion of deliverables. Develop budget and manage program expenses, projections, and reporting. Plan and manage outreach activities and internal events, working with vendors and internal resources as needed. Create, develop and expand communications via websites, social media channels, and publication materials as needed. Represent the program internally and externally. Ensure timely, accurate and appropriate reporting of program activities. Monitor, evaluate and implement business practices and procedures to support the day-to-day operational needs of the program. Review and evaluate program needs, while maintaining cost effectiveness. Manage and oversee the timely compilation of annual reports and work plans. May supervise and/or oversee operational staff with program responsibilities. Other duties as assigned. In addition to the duties described above Develop and deliver program insights and evaluation metrics synthesizing outcomes and recommendations into briefings for senior leadership and key stakeholders. Oversee the management of awarded projects, including onboarding, budget tracking, milestone monitoring, and coordination with finance and research administration partners. Serve as the primary point of contact for program participants, providing guidance to applicants and awardees while managing communications and resolving issues. Lead the administration of competitive funding programs, including managing proposal submission processes, coordinating multi-stage review workflows, and ensuring compliance with review policies. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. Two years of related experience. Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond a high school diploma/graduation equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Preferred Qualifications Highly proficient with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong program management and project skills, with ability to manage multiple concurrent, high-priority initiatives. High attention to detail and ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment. Progressive experience in higher education supporting complex, multi-investigator or multi-year initiatives. Strong understanding of sponsored and non-sponsored research, internal funding mechanisms, and grant review processes. Demonstrated expertise in financial and data analysis, reporting, and program evaluation, with familiarity with institutional financial systems preferred.

Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. JHU Equivalency Formula:
30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
