This is a full-time 12-month position responsible for providing creative and energetic leadership in the college's student life program. The Associate Dean of Students promotes a sense of engagement and community and an environment for personal growth and learning on all College campuses, including all residence halls. They will have responsibility for all residence hall operations, student activities, student development, student leadership programs, the Advocacy Resource Center. In addition, the Associate Dean of Students functions as the Dean's Disciplinary Officer and as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's Degree in Higher Education or related degree with 7 years of experience in college student support and/or a student affairs field in higher education.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Five years' experience in residential life and/or judicial affairs. Demonstrated experience with direct supervision of full-time personnel. Demonstrated experience with budget planning and oversight. Management skills and demonstrated ability to work with individuals and organizations inside and outside the College community. Excellent communication and conflict resolution/intervention skills. Proven ability to exercise superior judgment and discretion, as well as maintain integrity and confidences.WHY WORK AT SMCC
