Pay Schedule Month Number of Hrs./Wk. 40 Position Information Position Information Minimum Qualifications Masters Degree in counseling, education, or relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Five to seven years of medical school experience. Experience in medical education, advising medical students and managing student affairs in a medical school environment. Ability to effectively use counseling skills in a variety of situations. Skilled at organization and presentation of data using critical thinking skills to analyze and make recommendations based on data. Ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently. Excellent communication skills and ability to compose, proofread and edit various communications and prepare and give presentation to students and faculty. Ability to maintain strictest standards regarding confidentiality of all student information. Desired Qualifications PhD, EdD, MD, DO or other terminal degree in counseling, education, or relevant field. All Qualifications Unless otherwise required by an applicable collective bargaining agreement, all minimum, additional and desired qualifications are preferred, but qualifications, degrees, and/or experience deemed comparable and/or equivalent by Oakland University in its sole and exclusive discretion may be considered. Position Details Position Purpose Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Affairs, the Assistant Dean provides leadership and strategic support for all student affairs matters; including career advising, program development, student advising and student affairs sponsored events. The Assistant Dean will work independently to prioritize assignments and strategies in order to achieve the mission of the School of Medicine under the direct supervision and vision of the Associate Dean for Student Affairs.
