SUMMARY
The Restorative Practices Specialist supports the implementation, consistency, and continuous improvement of
culturally responsive restorative practices across Hopkins Public Schools. Working as part of a district restorative
practices team, this role partners closely with school leaders, restorative staff, and site teams to strengthen
restorative culture, integrate restorative practices within MTSS frameworks, and promote equitable,
relationship-centered approaches to student behavior, climate, and community.
While assigned as part of a pooled district team, Restorative Practices Specialists prioritize relationship-based
partnerships with buildings to ensure continuity, trust, and effective implementation across schools.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Restorative Culture Communication & Collaboration
Collaborate with site-based restorative culture teams to support alignment with district restorative practices
frameworks and expectations.
Partner with administrators, restorative staff, teachers, non-certified staff, students, and families to promote
shared understanding of restorative culture.
Support consistent communication of restorative practices to staff and families through district and site-level
communication structures.
Participate regularly in district-wide restorative practices meetings and collaborative planning processes.
Serve as a connector between school sites and district restorative leadership to promote coherence and
shared learning.
Implementation of Restorative Practices
Support schools in developing, implementing, and refining restorative practices implementation plans
aligned to district guidance.
Assist with integrating restorative practices into professional development, staff meetings, classrooms, and
school-wide systems.
Co-create and model restorative tools and practices, including community-building circles, restorative
conversations, and processes to respond to harm.
Collaborate with administrators to support accountability and progress in restorative practices
implementation.
Contribute to district-wide professional learning related to restorative practices.
Restorative Practices within MTSS
Support alignment of restorative practices within the district's Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
Collaborate with site MTSS teams to strengthen Tier 1 and Tier 2 restorative practices that emphasize
prevention, relationship-building, and repair of harm.
Assist in coordinating restorative practices across academic, behavioral, and social-emotional supports.
Promote consistent restorative approaches across sites while honoring contextual needs.
Data Collection, Analysis, and Continuous Improvement
Support site and district efforts to collect, analyze, and communicate data related to restorative practices,
including behavior, attendance, and climate indicators.
Collaborate with administrators, data staff, and district partners to review implementation fidelity and
outcomes.
Assist with reflective review processes that support continuous improvement of restorative practices.
Support the use of multiple data sources to inform equitable systems change and reduce disproportionality
in discipline.
Professional Responsibilities
Collaborate effectively with district staff, school leaders, and community partners.
Maintain accurate documentation related to restorative practices work.
Promote and support the District's mission, vision, and values through professional, respectful, and
collaborative behavior.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Preferred Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, School Counseling, School Psychology, or a related field
preferred.
Demonstrated experience implementing or supporting restorative practices in school settings.
Experience collaborating with educators, administrators, and school teams.
Commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of formal degree preparation.
Additional Preferred Experience
Experience implementing restorative practices within an MTSS framework.
Experience facilitating professional learning or coaching adults.
Experience working in culturally and linguistically diverse school communities.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
