American Indian Education Coordinator
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Integration Supervisor, the American Indian Education (AIE) Coordinator supports the success of American Indian and Alaska Native students by building meaningful relationships, promoting cultural pride and belonging, and creating strong connections among school, family, and community. This position coordinates culturally responsive programming, student advocacy, family engagement, staff learning, and aid-supported services to ensure American Indian students have access to opportunities and supports across the district. Working closely with students, families, elders, staff, and community partners, the AIE Coordinator helps develop and sustain programs that honor American Indian identity, strengthen engagement, and support student achievement. Timeline- Stillwater Area Public Schools are currently seeking a 1.0 FTE American Indian Education Coordinator
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree MN Teaching license Demonstrated experience organizing and leading student groups Curriculum and professional development Attend AIPAC meetings Aid management - funding, etc. collaborating

Salary/Wage Information:
The salary range for this position is $91,208 to $96,505 based on Level XII (C52) of the current Coordinators, Supervisors and Specialists Terms and Conditions. A generous insurance plan is including medical, dental, vision, life and long term disability insurance. We also offer a 3.5% 403b employer match. Duties & Responsibilities Establish, coordinate, and sustain meaningful, culturally appropriate mentorship, engagement, and connection opportunities for American Indian students. Serve as an advocate for American Indian and Alaska Native students to ensure equitable access to all district academic programs, activities, services, and supports. Build strong, trusting relationships with students for the purpose of developing confidence, promoting pride in American Indian heritage, supporting school engagement, and addressing areas of academic, social, or personal challenge. Develop and implement culturally enriching, project-based learning activities that increase student knowledge of cultural identity, history, leadership, and community connection. Coordinate and provide culturally focused after-school programming, including NASA programming at the high school level. Facilitate student groups, leadership opportunities, and culturally grounded gatherings that support student voice, belonging, and success. Analyze student and program needs, identify barriers to success, and help develop responsive supports and interventions. Support curricular and extracurricular opportunities that strengthen student belonging, participation, and achievement. Increase family and caregiver participation through planning, facilitation, and follow-up for monthly AIPAC meetings and related engagement activities. Establish and maintain trusting relationships with families, extended families, elders, tribal communities, American Indian organizations, and community partners. Collaborate with American Indian parents, students, elders, and community members to help guide culturally grounded programming and district supports. Participate in and support school and community gatherings with students, families, and staff. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with tribal communities, American Indian organizations, higher education partners, and other agencies that support students and families. Serve as a liaison between school, home, and community to strengthen communication, connection, and access to resources. Collaborate with the Integration Supervisor, American Indian parents, students, elders, and community members to develop the Title VI grant. Monitor implementation of the Title VI grant to ensure program goals, performance outcomes, compliance requirements, timelines, and budget expectations are met. Collaborate with the Integration Supervisor, American Indian parents, students, elders, and community members to develop the Minnesota American Indian Education aid. Collect, review, and use program data to evaluate effectiveness, guide continuous improvement, and report outcomes related to aid and district goals. Develop, coordinate, and deliver professional development for staff related to American Indian history, culture, educational equity, culturally responsive practice, and effective supports for American Indian students and families. Provide curriculum coordination, consultation, and support to staff to strengthen the integration of accurate, respectful, and culturally grounded American Indian content and perspectives. Attend and support relevant district, community, and state meetings, including AIPAC and other American Indian education partnerships and events, as appropriate. Performs other job-related duties as requested or assigned. Skills & Abilities Deep knowledge of American Indian/Alaska Native culture, community, traditional knowledge, history, tribal national, and social/education resources in Minnesota Demonstrated knowledge of tribal protocol and American Indian practices Curriculum coordination, support, and consultation Effective culturally grounded community engagement and connection strategies Experience creating and supporting staff professional development Establish trusting relationships with students, families, extended families, community partners Participate in and support curricular and extra-curricular gatherings with students, their families, and staff Demonstrate deep understanding of, and experience with, cultural competence and culturally grounded practices in education Communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing at all levels Organize activities, set priorities, deadlines, and follow instructions.
