Job Description

About the Role Head Instructor is the face of KickIt Taekwondo at our St. Louis location. You lead all mat operations, drive student enrollment and retention, and build a high-performance martial arts culture aligned with KickIt's championship mindset. This is a leadership role — you teach, you sell, and you grow the school. Responsibilities Lead and deliver all Taekwondo classes for children, teens, and adults across all belt levels Manage and mentor 2 Assistant Instructors — scheduling, training, and performance Drive active student enrollment through trial classes, school demos, and community outreach Own the full sales process: inquiry follow-up, trial class delivery, and membership close Conduct parent meetings and enrollment presentations — convert trials into paying members Follow up on leads generated through digital marketing, referrals, and walk-ins Own the student journey: onboarding, belt testing, upgrades, and retention conversations Implement and uphold the KickIt Taekwondo curriculum and belt progression standards Integrate ChampionMind mindset content into class programming where applicable Submit weekly
KPIs:
active students, trial count, show rate, close rate, upgrades Coordinate with Traditional TKD Black Belt Center leadership on school operations Requirements Minimum 3rd Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo (WT/WTF recognized) 3+ years of martial arts instruction experience, preferably in a school setting Proven sales experience — comfortable presenting, following up, and closing enrollments Understands the enrollment funnel: lead → trial → close → retention Natural leader with a passion for youth development and coaching Strong communicator with parents, students, and school partners Organized and self-directed — capable of running day-to-day operations with minimal oversight Background check required | First Aid/CPR certified (or willing to obtain) Compensation Competitive base salary (commensurate with experience) Performance bonus tied to active student count and monthly enrollment targets Opportunity to grow into a School Director role as the location scales To apply: gregbirring@icloud.com |
