Associate/Assistant Athletic Director of Development Appalachian State University United States, North Carolina, Boone 287 Rivers Street (Show on map) Apr 10, 2026 Request to Recruit Position Title Associate/Assistant Athletic Director of Development Location Boone, NC Faculty Rank No Provide Rank Position Number 046121 Department Yosef Club - 555010 Position Summary Information Primary Purpose The athletic program at Appalachian State University operates on the premise that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of the institution's overall program of education. Minimum Qualifications The chosen finalist will be hired for one of the following two roles, based on their qualifications and experience. Please read carefully to make sure you meet the minimum qualifications.
Assistant Athletic Drector:
Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited college or university required. Minimum three years experience in fundraising or a closely related/comparable field. Defined success in sales, philanthropic fundraising and project management. Experienced relationship builder with excellence communication skills-and the ability to be responsive, resourceful and relationship-oriented. Background in higher education and athletic department operations. Knowledge of computer systems for prospect, donor, and ticketing management. Ability to work evenings and weekends with willingness to travel.
Associate Athletic Director:

Background in higher education and athletic department operations. Knowledge of computer systems for prospect, donor, and ticketing management. Ability to work evenings and weekends with willingness to travel. License/Certification Required Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Essential Duties:
Major Gift fundraiser. Fundraising and philanthropic efforts to include Travel required for donor stewardship Reach defined fundraising goals in dollars and members as set by senior level administration Solicitation of constituents for major gifts and benefit fulfillment to active donors and prospects Work off assigned prospect list to evaluate, cultivate, solicit and steward donor Use data and prospecting tools to find new constituents interested in Appalachian State athletics Add value to the overarching athletic development unit to successfully reach and grow financial and membership goals on an annual basis Game day responsibilities and coordination Donor/Prospect management reports Athletic Development strategic planning support Cultivate leadership donors / prospects and solicit their support Work with sports programs and head coaches to ensure fundraising initiatives are successful Type of Position Full Time Position Staff/Non-Faculty Staff/Non-Faculty VISA Sponsorship?
