Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit The College of Arts and Sciences Advising Center (CASA) is home to academic advising for first year students majoring in the College of Arts and Sciences. Our advisors support first year students in the College of Arts and Sciences in their transition to a college environment and teach students how to understand and navigate degree requirements, course options, and support services. CASA advisors encourage students to adopt a professional and proactive approach to lifelong learning and empower students to make the most of their education in a complex and changing world. Position Summary Provides academic advising and enrollment support for College of Arts and Sciences students, helping them navigate degree requirements, curriculum planning, and university policies. Supports student success by connecting students with campus resources, assisting with orientation programs, maintaining accurate advising records, and collaborating with faculty, staff, and campus partners. Contributes to student retention efforts and assists with special projects within the CASA office. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and three or more years of experience in academic advising in a college or university setting. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in humanities, social sciences, higher education, student affairs, counseling or a related field. Good working knowledge of Banner, MS365, and Starfish.
