Job Description
Summary of Position The Associate Campus Director leads the development and health of the Knightdale Campus Small Group ministry, ensuring that every member is meaningfully connected, cared for, and equipped for disciple-making. This role owns the systems and strategy for small groups, membership assimilation, and pastoral care, while developing leaders and building sustainable structures that support the spiritual growth of the campus. For candidates meeting pastoral qualifications, this role will function as an Associate Campus Pastor, including additional shepherding, teaching, and elder-aligned responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements Strong organizational and systems leadership skills with attention to detail Proven ability to recruit, develop, and lead volunteer teams Clear and compelling communicator of vision and values Relational intelligence with the ability to build trust across cultures and teams Alignment with The Summit Church's small group discipleship model Demonstrated spiritual maturity and a track record of disciple-making Self-motivated, humble, and eager to learn and implement best practices A member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a member Responsibilities 1. Small Group Strategy & Health Lead the execution of the campus small groups strategy in alignment with Summit's discipleship model Regularly assess the health and effectiveness of the small group ministry Identify gaps and opportunities; develop plans to strengthen and grow the ministry Partner with central small groups leadership to align vision, strategy, and resourcing 2. Leader Recruitment, Development & Coaching Build and sustain a healthy pipeline of small group leaders Recruit, evaluate, and commission new leaders with a vision for multiplication Plan and lead regular small group leader trainings Develop and coach small group coaches and leaders Build sustainable structures of care for leaders, including collaboration with campus elders 3. Assimilation & Membership Ensure effective connection of individuals into small groups Oversee and execute key connection environments (e.g., GroupLink, Summit Weekender, etc.) Own the campus covenant membership process from first engagement to covenant signing Help new members connect to serving opportunities and ongoing discipleship pathways 4. Pastoral Care Systems Own and lead the campus care strategy, ensuring every member is shepherded Build and maintain systems that facilitate effective, scalable pastoral care Serve as the primary point of contact for member care needs at the campus Equip and mobilize leaders to provide care within their groups and teams Measures of Effectiveness A growing majority of adults are meaningfully connected to small groups Small group leaders are thriving, equipped, and multiplying A culture of ongoing group formation and multiplication across the campus A clear and compelling pathway that moves people from first connection to committed membership A community where every member is known, cared for, and shepherded Churchwide Events This is a full-time role with an expected workload of 40 hours per week. As one church in many locations, all staff are expected to serve at church-wide events such as Good Friday, Easter, church-wide prayer meetings, Christmas Services.
