Job Description

The University Registrar is responsible for maintaining all student academic records, coordinating the schedule of classes and registration of students, developing and distributing the annual Academic Catalog and academic calendar, enrollment reporting, working in conjunction with the Office of Academic Advising, maintaining processes in the student information system, transfer evaluations for incoming students, implementing all academic policies, and assuring the implementation of FERPA policies.
Essential Responsibilities:
Supervise the maintenance,management and security of all academic records, digital and hardcopy as appropriate Assure security and preservation of historical student records and university catalogs Maintain processes within the student information system (EIIucian Colleague/Self Service) necessary for yearround operations Evaluate transcripts from transfer students for academic credit Develop semester course schedules in collaboration with department chairs /division deans, including assigning course sections to classrooms and disseminating final schedules Coordinate planning for registration and supervise registration procedures, including assisting with schedule changes as needed during schedule adjustment periods Administer End of Term grade processing including updating student academic standing Administer December and May Commencement ceremonies Regularly evaluate needs for instructional spaces and work with division deans to plan for their effective and efficient use Prepare regular reports, including fall, spring and summer enrollment statistics, annual enrollment reports with fiveyear comparison statistics, section enrollment reports, advisor reports, major reports, and others as needed Respond to requests for information from state, federal, and other higher education agencies Coordinate the university's participation inthe Independent College Articulation Agreement with North Carolina Community Colleges Represent the university on the Asheville Area Education Consortium Serve as a member of the various university committees Serve as an ex officio member on the Curriculum Committee and on the Admissions, Academic Standards, and Financial Aid Committee, and other committees as assigned, or appoint a designee or designees as necessary Supervise Registrar's Office staff, to include the support staff and institutional researcher Work closely with faculty directors of first year advising and advising within the majors to ensure effective advising across the University Maintain a current understanding of best practices instudent records management, administrative information technology, and related areas Administer academic policies and FERPA policies Facilitate collaboration with institutional research and academic assessment for institutional effectiveness Carry out other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
The University Registrar must hold a master's degree from a regionally accredited institution and have experience in student records maintenance. The position also requires skills in leadership, planning, information management, and academic policy development. The person in the position must be able to work effectively with faculty members, complete tasks under significant time constraints, and balance multiple simultaneous projects.
