Job Description The Associated Students of the University of Nevada (ASUN) is made up of every undergraduate student at the University of Nevada. ASUN provides a means for students to voice concerns and address issues at the university, local, state, national, and international levels. Responsibilities The duties of the Assistant Director of Campus Wellness are as follows: Act as the Director of Campus Wellness in the Director's absence or at the Director's request Program and promote events and initiatives related to campus health and wellness assigned by the Director of Campus Wellness, including but not limited to, It's On Us, green Dot Training, Pack Fit, Wellness Wednesdays, etc. Work with Inkblot and campus marketing organizations to promote campus wellness resources and manage Department public relations. Collaborate with ASUN and campus entities to provide support and informational resources to students regarding issues of public health. Responsible for attending all ASUN retreats, and trainings as decided by the Director of Campus Wellness and the Director of Executive Outreach. Required Qualifications During my tenure in this appointed position, I agree to adhere to the following guidelines: Candidate must be enrolled at the University of Nevada, Reno Maintain a 2.00 GPA and be enrolled in at least 7 credits Perform all duties and instructions outlined by the ASUN Governing Documents Uphold the Nevada Student Code of Conduct Meet all deadlines set forth, attend all required meetings and training, work scheduled hours, properly complete and submit HR paperwork on time, assist in the promotion of the mission of ASUN and Nevada, behave in a manner that is ethical, maintain a high level of integrity Other duties as called upon by my position I understand if I do not adhere to the items outlined in this agreement or what is stated in the ASUN Governing Documents, my position may be subject to disciplinary action by the ASUN Judicial Council and/or the University of Nevada. Preferred Qualifications Experience in fields related to public health, psychology, counseling, social work, or related health sciences field through course of study, previous work experience, or extracurricular activities Motivation to develop and implement wellness initiatives or programs, including planning, promotion, and evaluation Knowledge of evidence-based practices and current trends in wellness promotion and mental health Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in wellness programming and support services Motivation to further the goals and initiatives of
ASUN:
Collaborating with the Center for Student Engagement and other campus departments to increase students' access to basic needs and awareness of services Working to coordinate student advisory boards such as those relating to affordable housing and power-based violence Connecting students to mental health resources on campus and in the community Understanding perceptions of campus safety to address student needs Advocating to expand student access to fentanyl testing strips and naloxone on campus Excellent organization and project management skills in a team-based environment with multiple projects Flexibility and adaptability within role; ability to time manage and prioritize tasks Willingness to mentor an intern during the fall and spring semesters Compensation Grade Student Employee Level 1 $3,000 distributed evenly over a 12-month period in a single-term Disclaimer The Association reserves the right to request additional documents for employment.
