TITLE Office Assistant, VP of Student Affairs

DESCRIPTION
Position Overview The Office Assistant will support the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs by providing administrative and clerical assistance that helps maintain smooth daily operations for the Vice President's Office. This position offers the opportunity to gain professional experience in a high-level executive environment while contributing to projects and initiatives that impact the entire college. Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with scheduling meetings, including coordinating availability, sending calendar invitations, and confirming participants.
  • Prepare and process check requests, purchase requisitions, and event forms in accordance with college procedures.
  • Support planning and logistics for campus events and activities.
  • Organize and maintain both digital and physical files to ensure efficient retrieval and record-keeping.
  • Draft and edit basic correspondence, forms, and memos as needed.
  • Provide light hospitality support for visitors, events, and meetings (e.g., room setup, greeting guests).
  • Conduct simple research and administrative follow-ups.
  • Perform other general office tasks to support the operations of the office.
Required Qualifications High school degree required. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Professional and clear communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive information. Dependability, punctuality, and a positive attitude. Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
  • Previous experience with scheduling or administrative tasks.
  • Interest in higher education administration or executive office environments.
Work Schedule Flexible 10-15 hours per week, based on availability and office needs. Work is conducted in person at least one day per week. This role is intended for Summer 2026 (June 1-August 31), with the opportunity to continue during the academic year on a reduced schedule of approximately 5 hours per week. Supervision This position reports directly to the Vice President of Student Affairs.
Payrate:
Hourly rate range: $17-20, commensurate with experience and/or a combination of education and experience.
