Job Description
Full-time, 40 hours/week Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Onsite Summary:
The Manager of the Simulation Center provides leadership and operational oversight for a comprehensive, interprofessional simulation and resuscitation education program. This role is responsible for staff leadership, strategic planning, financial and operational management, and service excellence for learners and clinical partners across the organization. The Manager ensures the Simulation Center supports Akron Children's Hospital's mission to improve child health through high-quality education, patient safety, and continuous learning.Responsibilities:
Provides leadership for the Simulation Center, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Partners with the Medical Director of Simulation to develop, implement, and evaluate strategic priorities aligned with organizational goals. Supports integration of simulation into quality improvement, patient safety, and clinical education initiatives. Directly supervises and develops a multidisciplinary team including Nurse educators, Respiratory therapy educators, Simulation technicians, American Heart Association RQI program staff (BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP), and administrative support staff Builds and maintains strong collaborative relationships with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, advanced practice providers, educators, and operational leaders. Partners with clinical departments to assess educational needs and design simulation-based solutions that support competency, safety, and performance improvement. Provides operational oversight of the American Heart Association RQI program, including compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement. Supports faculty development and best practices in simulation-based education. Manages departmental budgets, forecasting, and expense control. Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare or Education required.Certification:
Maintains or obtains certification through the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) (e.g., CHSE or CHSOS), as appropriate.Years of relevant experience:
3 years of experience in education or healthcare simulation is required.Years of supervisory experience:
2 years of Supervisory experience required.Full Time FTE:
