Associate Director of Strategic Analysis and Funds Management Department:
Strategic Enrollment | Financial Aid Job Description The Associate Director of Strategic Analysis and Funds Management provides leadership and direction for strategic planning, and analysis functions and funds management responsibilities within the Student Financial Aid (SFA) office at The Ohio State University. This position reports to Assistant Vice Provost of Student Financial Success and leads student financial aid reporting and analysis, which includes the strategic design, development and maintenance of financial aid data, tools, reports and analysis. Directs research and information analysis under the general direction of the Assistant Vice Provost for Student Financial Success. Leverages historical data and predictive modeling to forecast the impact of financial aid strategies for university leadership. Develops data driven scholarship and financial aid leveraging models. Creates dashboards and advanced visualization of analytics to share with university leaders to help inform institutional decisions related to aid programming. Serves as a consultant to university leadership in establishing scholarship and financial aid awarding policies that contribute to the achievement of university recruitment and retention goals. Oversees the workflow for all data needs relating to student aid. Cultivates strategic partnerships within Strategic Enrollment Management and across the university to identify emerging data needs, leading the development of custom reporting solutions that enhance student financial success and services. Oversees the management and reconciliation of funds (scholarships, general funds, federal funds, state funds, development funds). Drives the management of all funds by implementing strategic controls to ensure financial aid resources are optimized to support the Strategic Enrollment Plan. Leads the end-to-end preparation of research data sets ensuring accuracy and consistency for federal, state and institutional reporting requirements. Assists the Assistant Vice Provost in responding to requests from university governmental relations and media inquiries. Participates as part of the SFA senior management team in determining office policies and procedures. Oversees approximately 5 staff. Directly supervises and directs workflow of the data analysis and funds management teams and employs a comprehensive performance management system and ensures all activities are compliant with federal, state, and university rules and regulations. Assigns and prioritizes tasks to ensure work is completed with accuracy and timeliness. Completes special duties and projects assigned.Education/Experience Required:
Bachelor's Degree in higher education, data, analytics, or social science research area or equivalent combination of education and experience. 7 years of relevant experience. Expertise in interpreting statistical findings.Desired:
Advanced degree. 12 or more years of relevant experience preferred. Financial aid experience. Management of information including data analytics, reporting and/or forecasting, experience with advanced statistical modeling. Experience leading high level analytics projects.Additional Information:
