Exempt Qualifications:

1. Valid and appropriate teacher or administrator certificate/license from the State of Ohio (preferred, not required). 2. Current BCI/FBI, Pupil Activity Permit (PAP) on file. (Including all required certifications to keep PAP valid.) 3. Demonstrated coaching capabilities and experience. 4. Record of good attendance and strong work ethic. 5. Evidence of good moral character as established in section 3301-20-01 of the Ohio Administrative Code. 6. Ability to maintain confidential information. 7. Knowledge of weight room equipment with emphasis on fundamentals. 8. Knowledge of training and conditioning techniques. 9. Ability to diagnose player strengths/deficiencies and prescribe corrective action. 10. Organizational and problem solving skills. 11. Ability to communicate ideas and directives effectively (orally and in writing). 12. Ability to relate with and inspire young athletes. 13. Ability to work effectively with parents, educators, and other coaches. 14. Willingness to invest the necessary time during the season. 15. Ability to make minor repairs on equipment. 16. Experience working with a culturally diverse student population preferred. 17. Alternatives to the above qualifications that the Board of Education may find appropriate.

Essential Functions:

1. Establish and post a weight room schedule throughout the year, particularly at the beginning of each season as different sports go in and out of season. 2. Work with all coaches to establish an effective strength and conditioning program for their particular sport. 3. Make sure that weight equipment is properly maintained and in good working order. 4. Report specific needs to the Athletic Director. 5. Organize, implement and maintain a system to accurately record the progress of our athletes. 6. Maintain accurate sign-in, sign-out, date and time records for faculty. 7. Establish and maintain a posting location for current printed information relating topics of strength, conditioning, and proper nutrition for our athletes. 8. Communicates as needed with all staff to ensure a team approach to problem solving. 9. Helps maintain safety and security in the building. 10. Accesses, responds and communicates using the district issued email account regularly.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as responsible citizens. 2. Helps instill in students the belief in and practice of ethical principles and democratic values. 3. Remains compliant with district policies regarding alcohol and substance use/abuse. (ie: PO 4122.01 and PO 4170) 4. Conducts all work in a safe and responsible manner. 5. Conducts other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Additional Working Conditions:

1. Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissue. 2. Occasional operation of a vehicle under inclement weather conditions. 3. Occasional interaction among unruly children. 4. Occasional lifting and carrying of 15-30 pounds. 5. Repetitive hand motion (e.g. computer keyboard)
