The Lead Student Program Coordinator serves as a senior strategic leader within the Office of Student Life responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the university's campus engagement strategy. This role is central to advancing the university's institutional priorities related to student belonging, retention, campus culture, and student success. This position operates with significant autonomy and authority to design and execute large-scale initiatives that impact thousands of students annually. The Lead Student Program Coordinator oversees the planning, execution, and assessment of campus-wide programs and signature events while supervising staff, advising student leaders, managing substantial budgets, coordinating cross-departmental initiatives, and representing the division of Student Affairs in institutional decision-making spaces. The scope of this role includes leadership of the Campus Programs functional unit, advising the Campus Activities Council, strategic planning for engagement initiatives across the university, and management of programs that collectively serve more than 25,000 students and thousands of community members annually. This position is responsible for setting the strategic direction for campus engagement initiatives across the Office of Student Life.Key strategic responsibilities include:
Developing long-term engagement strategies aligned with institutional priorities. Creating and implementing programs that increase student belonging, engagement, and retention. Leading initiatives requested by senior leadership including the President and Vice President for Student Affairs. Identifying emerging trends in student engagement and developing innovative programs to address them. Using institutional data and engagement analytics to guide programming decisions. Bachelor's Degree in related field. 36 months in student programming, student services or closely related experience.Equivalency/Substitution:
Will accept 48 months related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's Degree for a total of 84 months experience.Department Preferences:
Strong group and one-on-one advising and coaching with an emphasis on student development. Conduct themselves at all times with the highest levels of personal and professional integrity. Developing and implementing efficient budgets, cost saving solutions and long-term financial savings and investment strategies. Effective oral and written communication. Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information. Ability to work independently. Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs or a related field¿ Experience working with underserved student populations. A minimum of 12 months of experience.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
