The position assists departments with course scheduling, curriculum changes, Simple Syllabus, degree audit modifications, ABET, convocation, and student events. This position provides direct administrative and operational support to the Director of Undergraduate Studies and Director of Graduate Studies. The incumbent will exercise substantial independent judgment in interpreting academic policy, translating curriculum committee decisions into institutional systems, resolving complex scheduling and enrollment challenges, and ensuring compliance across multiple academic platforms. Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities:
Coordinate academic scheduling, enrollment management, classroom assignments, and course offerings. Manage curriculum updates, course and program changes, and catalog maintenance using university systems. Administer syllabus compliance processes and ensure adherence to university academic policies. Process degree audit modifications, academic records updates, petitions, and graduation-related requirements. Provide administrative support to undergraduate and graduate academic programs, including student awards, recruitment, capstone projects, and special initiatives. Provide administrative support for accreditation and assessment activities, including ABET documentation, reporting, and compliance tracking. Maintain confidential academic records, student program data, and departmental reporting metrics. Plan and support academic events, student engagement activities, outreach programs, and departmental communications. Collaborate with faculty, advisors, students, and university partners to support the administration of academic operations and student success. Develop and maintain department procedures, documentation, websites, and communication resources related to academic programs.

Program Specialists, III :
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience.
Program Specialists, IV:
Requires a bachelor's (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
Preferences Preferences:
Experience working at the University of Utah or another R1 research institution. Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Degree Audit (DARS), Coursedog, Simple Syllabus, Canvas, and University Catalog processes. Familiarity with ABET accreditation requirements and assessment documentation. Experience supporting engineering, STEM, or other professional degree programs. Experience supporting curriculum committees, catalog updates, and academic policy implementation.
