Job Description

Position Summary The Assistant Director provides leadership and operational oversight for the Student Success Center and Library, including budget management, staffing, and the delivery of tutoring and academic support services. The role ensures compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and disability accommodation processes while maintaining systems to assess service effectiveness and utilization. Additionally, the Assistant Director collaborates with campus partners to enhance student success initiatives and develops community partnerships to support student needs and referrals. This position also supports the Dean of Student Success by managing daily operations related to the student success division, assisting with conduct and Title IX processes, approving accommodations, and providing leadership coverage as needed. Areas of Oversight Summary Aultman College Student Success Center and Health Sciences Library and respective coordinator, librarian and assistant librarian. Day to day operational oversight for the student success division which includes the office of the registrar and advising team. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, master's degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of higher education experience required.
  • Experience with student information systems such as SONIS, Banner, Workday, Ellucian or others, preferred. Department Qualifications Skills

  • Strong organizational abilities, including the capacity to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, software applications, and related technologies.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of students, faculty, staff, and community partners.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screening as a condition of employment. Department Skills Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Oversee daily operations of the Student Success Center (SSC), including budget planning, budget management, and supervision of SSC staff, Library staff, tutors, and student assistants.
  • Coordinate and supervise tutoring services, including the recruitment and hiring of qualified tutors and consultants.
  • Oversee disability support services to ensure full compliance with ADA requirements, including reviewing and approving accommodations in alignment with institutional policies.
  • Facilitate referrals for students with critical or urgent needs to appropriate community resources.
  • Collaborate with program directors, faculty, and other campus stakeholders to expand and enhance Student Success services.
  • Maintain systems for monitoring service quality and usage and provide regular reports to leadership.
  • Address and resolve day-to-day operational issues and inquiries.
  • Manage student conduct and Title IX processes in accordance with institutional policies.
  • Provide coverage and support for division operations as needed.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Program and Assistant Directors to identify and address student needs.

This unit requires 24/7 coverage. Shifts are variable to volume of department. Rotation as needed. Work weekends and holidays as assigned. Every other weekend and two holidays a year, in a group rotation Hybrid/WFH schedule available Lunch periods and breaks are coordinated with other staff members to maintain adequate floor coverage Cross training in all areas in the department is required. On call coverage is assigned to cover the department schedule Staff may be assigned to different locations within the foundation Travel within a "XX" mile radius is required
  • The Assistant Director Student Success is a hybrid role.
  • Some weekends and evenings are necessary.
  • High amount of sitting and screen time.
  • Cross training of all roles in the division.
