The Academic Senate strengthens and supports the local senates of all California community colleges in terms of leadership, empowerment and voice. Purpose:
Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Director of Programs provides oversight and direction to all grants and initiatives operated by the Academic Senate.
Duties:
Conduct program activities consistent with the goals, philosophy, and operational procedures of the Academic Senate. Oversee and monitor program-related activities including working with the Executive Director on providing strategic guidance; organize and coordinate projects within the program; and provide timely updates on the progress of the program's work plan. Draft complex grant reports, budgets, proposals, work plans, timelines, contracts, and other vital program documents, communications, and resources. Supervise a team of grant managers and/or associates towards project execution. Collaborate with faculty leaders on program direction and project execution. Support the development of best practices and tools for project execution and management. Collaborate with website programmers and Executive Director to manage grant initiative websites and program technology/applications. Ensure comprehensive grant compliance across all programs and implement effective risk management strategies to safeguard organizational resources. Engage with system partners on overlapping priorities relating to the program's scope. Provide functional guidance and direction to support staff. Travels occasionally to attend meetings, conferences, and events, and provides project support as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proven experience as a Program Manager and demonstrated ability to manage grant operations, budgets and timelines. Ability to develop, maintain, and promote strong internal and external relationships. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking abilities. Excellent oral and written communication skills required - ability to effectively present information. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, database-related software applications and other office equipment required. Proficient with web-based tools and content management systems (CMS). Knowledge of the California Community College system, Academic Senate, and institutions of higher education.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) required from a fully-accredited institution Minimum of three (3) years of related work experience required OR an equivalent combination of experience, training, and/or education approved by the

Compensation:
$90,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. ASCCC is an employer in the state of California only, and all ASCCC employees must be residents of California.
