Join a central role in university leadership and decision-making. The Governance Coordinator supports key governance bodies, manages official records and processes, and helps advanceplex, multi-stakeholder work across the institution. This position is ideal for a highly organized professional who enjoys working across teams, supporting structured decision-making, and contributing to how a university operates.
The Governance Coordinator supports shared governance at the University of Alaska Anchorage within the Chancellor's Office. This position provides coordination and administrative support for the Faculty Senate and staff shared governance bodies, and related groups, ensuring meetings, records, and processes align with university policy and established procedures. The role maintains official governance records, supports policy and curricular processes, and facilitatesmunication between governance leadership and university administration.
The candidate should be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a structured environment. The role requires strong coordination across stakeholders, ensuring work progresses effectively across evolving inputs and timelines. Strongmunication skills, a professional and objective approach to work, and the ability to build effective working relationships are essential. Experience supportingmittees, boards, or executive leadership is highly valuable. Familiarity with document management, records retention, and collaborative technology tools is important, and experience in higher education or knowledge of shared governance practices, including parliamentary procedure, will support success in this role.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree and two years progressively responsible experience related to the program specialty, or an equivalentbination of training and experience.Position Details:
This position is located at the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage, and flexible on-site/hybrid work arrangements may be considered in accordance with UA regulations. This is a full-time, non-exempt staff positionplete with both apetitive salary and full employee benefits package. UA provides a generouspensation package that includes retirement options, annual leave, 12 paid holidays per year, tuition waivers for employees and family members, and affordable medical, dental and vision care coverage.
