Job Description

Health WorkForce New York (HWNY), a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving access to quality healthcare in rural and underserved communities, is accepting applications for the Program Manager position. The Program Manager will report directly to the Northern Area Health Education Center (NAHEC) Center Director. The Program Manager will work with the NAHEC Center Director to plan, promote, implement, and evaluate digital and community-based health programs, products, and services designed to grow and develop the health workforce in the NAHEC service region. The primary areas of responsibility include: 1. Ensuring the timely and accurate completion and reporting of all NAHEC grant deliverables 2. Identifying and cultivating community partnerships to execute collaborative agreements and expand access to programs, products, and services 3. Enhance organizational capacity by developing and sustaining programs, services, and partnerships that support healthcare workforce development and community impact.
Essential Functions:
Planning
  • Work closely with the NAHEC Center Director to plan, coordinate, deliver, evaluate, and refine programs, products, and services.
  • Identify innovative ways to enhance or modify existing programs, products, and services.
  • Develop short- and long-term plans for program, product, and service engagement, recruitment, and sustainability.
Community Relations Management Build new partnerships between NAHEC/HWNY and community organizations to maintain and expand program, product, and service efforts. Build partnerships with agencies operating within the service region to leverage resources and expand programs, products, and services. Work with the NAHEC Center Director to continue cultivating existing relationships with community partners. Participate in all essential and relevant meetings, committees, and workgroups. Communication Develop an annual communications plan. Create promotional materials for programs, products, and services, and coordinate their delivery and distribution. Work with the NAHEC Center Director to create, post, and maintain content for websites, social media, and related databases. Compose and prepare routine correspondence as requested. Attend events, conferences, presentations, and meetings as required.
  • Programming & Reporting Requirements
  • Work closely with AHEC Scholars and monitor their progress.
Actively recruit AHEC Scholars. Organize and maintain documentation and reports for AHEC Scholars. Submit program reports on time via AHEC Tracker. Assist, as directed by the NAHEC Center Director, to ensure all other grant deliverables are completed. Program Integrity Continuously analyze program systems and processes to optimize delivery, articulation, and outcomes. Assist in developing program communication methods to facilitate the flow of information internally and throughout the service region. Regularly communicate with the NAHEC Center Director on key aspects of program opportunities. Support the Center Director in achieving on-time, high-quality delivery and reporting of all State, Federal, and other grant deliverables.
Required Characteristics & Knowledge:
Possess a strong capacity to develop and implement outreach strategies, produce professional materials, and support community organizations, supported by excellent organizational, planning, analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Capable of independently establishing effective performance measures and skilled in troubleshooting and problem-solving. Enthusiastic about meeting people, sharing information, and leading presentations. Shows strong project management skills. Strong follow-up, contact-tracking, and time-management skills; self-motivated with experience collaborating across diverse teams. Adaptable and capable of navigating ambiguity independently or collaboratively. Proficient in social media platforms, MS Office, Adobe software, and Canva. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, education, human services, community health, or a related field. Experience with WordPress is preferred but not required. Working Conditions Office location is in Canton, N.Y. Frequent travel within the NAHEC service region is required.
Pay:
$62,500.00 - $65,000.00 per year
