Online Academic Coach (Grades 5-12) School Mission and Vision:

Position Summary:
The Online Academic Coach supports students in grades 5-12 by providing consistent academic guidance, accountability, and communication. This role ensures students stay on pace, develop strong academic habits, and receive proactive support to be successful in the provided self-paced curriculum. This is not a direct teaching position, but the Coach may provide remediation or help students find alternative resources if the explanations provided in the curriculum are not sufficient for student understanding. The Coach serves as the primary point of contact for students and families regarding academic progress and day-to-day learning. The Coach may collaborate with families, CCA admin, other Online Coaches, and in-person staff at the CCA campus location to support students. This position is a 10-month work schedule paid over 12 months and begins July 27, 2026. Hours are flexible but will need to be scheduled in coordination with the Online Dean of Students during the school day, 8:00am to 3:30pm. Some flexibility may be required on occasion for events outside of normal school hours. Salary:
$26,000 to $30,000 (part-time, non-exempt) Key Responsibilities Student Academic Support Meet with students weekly (once or twice depending on age) to review progress, pacing, and assignments Help students develop time management, organization, and study skills Monitor completion of coursework and intervene when students fall behind Provide weekly office hours for students who have questions or need additional support Identify at-risk students who are not meeting academic goals early, coordinate support plants, and communicate with families and administrators Progress Monitoring & Accountability Track student performance across courses and subjects Identify gaps in understanding or performance and provide support or escalation Ensure students are progressing appropriately through their coursework Send weekly grade, attendance, pacing, project, etc. reports to students and parents Update grades weekly in PowerSchool Parent Communication Send weekly email updates to parents summarizing student progress, strengths, and concerns Conduct weekly parent meetings as needed Serve as the primary communication bridge between school and home for academic matters Pacing & Planning Help students set weekly and short-term academic goals Support students in managing workload and staying on track with course expectations Adjust pacing plans when needed in collaboration with leadership Collaboration Work with teachers and academic leadership to support student success Communicate concerns early and recommend interventions Contribute to overall academic systems and advisory improvements Teamwork & Organizational Alignment The Academic Coach must demonstrate a strong team-oriented mindset and a willingness to work collaboratively within the operational structure established by Central Christian Academy. This position requires the ability to support the vision, procedures, and direction established by the Online Dean of Students and school administration while contributing positively to team culture and daily operations. Flexibility, professionalism, and a servant-minded attitude are essential to maintaining a healthy and effective learning environment. Compliance Work with CCA staff and admin to comply with all state and federal grade and attendance reporting requirements Maintain accurate and timely records related to student attendance, pacing, academic progress, and communication logs Ensure grades, pacing updates, and progress reports are entered accurately and consistently in school systems according to established timelines Document parent communication, student interventions, academic concerns, and support plans as required by school procedures Maintain confidentiality of student records and information in accordance with FERPA and school policies Follow all school procedures related to student safety, mandatory reporting, digital communication expectations, and acceptable technology use Qualifications Bachelor's in education Strong organizational and communication skills Experience working with upper elementary or middle school students Ability to build rapport with students and families Detail-oriented with the ability to track and manage multiple students Preferred Qualifications Background in education, advising, or student support services Experience in virtual or hybrid learning environments Highly preferred: active Indiana teaching license Time Commitment Part-time (20-25 hours) Requires availability for: Twice-weekly student meetings Weekly parent communication Weekly parent conferences Pay:
