Job Description
Role Overview The Outreach and Engagement Manager will report to the Program Director and be responsible for building trusted relationships with both medical and patient communities. This role supports medical education initiatives, raises awareness of clinical trials, and acts as a liaison between healthcare professionals, institutions, patient communities, and internal clinical and development teams. The position requires an understanding of the pharmaceutical development process, familiarity and preferred experience with medical education (including CME), and comfort engaging diverse stakeholder groups. Key Responsibilities Serve as one of the liaisons to the medical professional community , including physicians, academic medical centers, healthcare institutions, and professional societies. Build and maintain strategic medical partnerships to support education, outreach, and research awareness initiatives. Support and participate in medical education initiatives , including continuing medical education (CME) programs and disease‑state education. Collaborate with internal team to ensure education and outreach activities support pharmaceutical partnership projects. Conduct outreach to patient communities and advocacy organizations to raise awareness of mission-focused rare diseases, treatment options, and potential clinical trial opportunities. Support clinical trial awareness efforts , including identifying appropriately engaged patient populations. Plan, coordinate, and support educational events , such as advisory boards, workshops, webinars, and in‑person or virtual meetings. Manage relationships with external vendors, venues, speakers, and partners related to educational and outreach events. Represent the organization at medical, scientific, and patient‑focused conferences and meetings Gather insights from healthcare professionals and patient communities to inform education strategies and outreach planning. Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory, compliance, and ethical standards. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree (MPH, MS, PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent) preferred Experience working with or within medical education, healthcare outreach, pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical research environments Demonstrated involvement in medical education initiatives , including familiarity with CME processes and standards Solid understanding of the pharmaceutical and clinical development lifecycle Experience engaging with physicians, healthcare institutions, and medical experts Comfort interacting with patient communities , advocacy groups, and nonprofit organizations in an educational and awareness‑focused capacity Proven event planning and coordination experience , including educational or scientific meetings Strong communication, relationship‑building, and organizational skills An energetic and proactive person who is comfortable taking initiative, building momentum, and engaging stakeholders with confidence Ability to work cross‑functionally with clinical, medical, research, and operational teams Willingness to travel as needed for meetings, conferences, and events
