Job Description

Anderson University's Department of Financial Aid and Scholarships invites applications for a full-time, 12 month position as Assistant Director/Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships. Anderson University is an innovative and entrepreneurial comprehensive, liberal arts university affiliated with the South Carolina Baptist Convention. The Assistant Director/Director of Financial Aid and Scholarships supports/oversees the daily operations of the financial aid office while delivering excellent customer service to students and families. This role oversees the administration and monitoring of federal, state, institutional, and private aid funds to ensure fiscally responsible stewardship and full utilization of resources. The Assistant Director/Director assists with or oversees the office budget, provides financial aid analysis and reporting to support strategic enrollment initiatives, and contributes to continuous improvement efforts related to net tuition revenue, discount rate analysis, and operational benchmarking Additionally, this position will assist in reviewing GPA and credit hour requirements, develop proactive outreach strategies to support federal loan status, manage award adjustments for course load changes and military benefits, maintain processes in Workday, use reporting tools to optimize aid distribution, and provide exit loan counseling. The Assistant Director/Director will oversee the Federal Work-Study Program, serving as a liaison for employee tuition benefits and other campus committees, participate in development opportunities and complete special projects as assigned by the Senior Vice President for Enrollment Services. Knowledge equivalent to that gained through a bachelor's degree and three years of previous experience in financial aid, student services, or related field is required. Proven knowledge of federal aid process and regulations, including the ability to perform basic mathematical skills and operations using American currency, and the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or group settings is required. Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Office, and familiarity Workday, Department of Education or similar systems is desired. Strong oral and written communication skills, exceptional organization, time management, and attention to detail combined with strong interpersonal skills, and the capacity to analyze and solve problems related to financial aid is required.
