Job Description

The Assistant Director of Workforce Admissions is responsible for providing strategic and visionary leadership in developing and implementing policies and procedures that ensure a seamless, accurate, and efficient delivery of service to all non-credit applicants. Through effective strategic planning and assessment, the Assistant Director provides leadership in developing a recruitment plan for specified non-credit student populations. The Assistant Director supervises Workforce admissions counselors, oversees application, verification and registration processes, plans annual training, coordinates recruitment events, ensures key customer service metrics are met, and provides information to potential students, all while aiming to achieve SCC's enrollment goals. Designs, implements, and assesses admissions event strategies for non-credit programs, including Information Sessions, Program & Department showcases, high school and Career Center visits, and other related events in collaboration with the Director of Admissions and the Director of Outreach. Provides reports to the Vice President of Student Services on a regular basis, regarding application flow, conversion rates, communication campaign results, customer service survey results, etc. Monitors the progress of applicants in territories with communications, phone, and email contacts, scheduled meetings, proactive outreach, and communication, responding to the applicant and newly accepted student questions, concerns, and needs. Supervises and evaluates workforce admissions staff to determine training needs in Salesforce and other utilized systems and ensures annual training is provided. Builds customized dashboards and actionable reporting to support business requirements in collaboration with various campus departments. Conducts annual customer service training utilizing best practices to improve communication and phone etiquette for prospective students. Works with the Student Communications Coordinator, Director of Admissions, and Director of Outreach to ensure that communication journeys are created and titled in Salesforce and regularly assesses the outcomes of communication strategies. Provides admissions counseling to assigned applicants. Assists applicants with career, academic, personal, and professional development. Connects applicants with needed academic/financial and/or other support resources while providing formal referrals and follow-up services for applicants needing additional career planning, counseling, etc. Bachelor's degree and experience in student services programs. Master's degree plus minimum of 2 years experience in higher education recruiting. Evening, weekend, and overnight travel will be required as dictated by planned student events.
