Director of Residential Services Position Summary:
The Director of Residential Services plays a crucial role in leading and empowering a diverse team to support individuals in achieving their personal goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills, along with a deep understanding of finance, performance management, and business strategies.
Education and Experience:
This position requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of two years of direct experience in supporting people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
Required Skills/Abilities:
Proven capability to effectively manage a wide range of responsibilities. Proficiency in budget management and financial oversight for residential homes Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Valid driver's license with insurability and a clean driving record required. Candidates must have the ability to pass a qualifying criminal background check and drug test.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight & Budget Management Maintain fiscal oversight with monthly residential home budgets. Identify and execute cost-saving initiatives. Leadership & Departmental Supervision Conduct regular supervision meetings with leadership teams. Maintain consistent communication channels across homes. Strategic Planning & Goal Setting Develop annual departmental goals aligned with organizational mission. Progress towards goals is defined in tracking system. Present monthly progress reports to leadership. Workforce & Schedule Management Collaborate with Workforce Managers to build flexible, compliant schedules. Implement a system for managing PTO, FMLA, and other leave types. Train residential supervisors on scheduling tools and policies. Residential Operations & Compliance Conduct regular audits for regulatory compliance. Provide training on HCBS, ARSD, DOH, CQL, and Fee for Service standards. Ensure implementation of individual support plans. Training, Mentorship & Development Mentor leadership team. Maintain consistent training with leadership teams. Team Support & Problem Solving Track issues and collaborate on solutions for team effectiveness. Regularly assess and report performance challenges to drive growth. Culture & Communication Facilitate regular team building and communication meetings. Launch initiatives to promote empowerment and transparency.
