Department USD-Intercollegiate Athletics Physical Location of Position (City) Vermillion Posting Text The University of South Dakota is seeking a dynamic, goal oriented individual to join the athletic department as Coordinator of Spirit Teams. The Coordinator of Spirit Teams is expected to carry out spirit team coaching and assistance/planning for the athletic department. The successful candidate will plan and develop programs that will appeal broadly to all students while maintaining fiscal responsibility and supporting the athletic department's goals. This position will manage a programming budget and will supervise student staff and volunteers. A Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree in student personnel or related field and experience is preferred. One or more years of related professional experience is required. Student leadership development, spirit team coaching & advisement, and budget management experience are highly preferred. Management and supervisory experience are highly desirable. The successful candidate will have team building skills, problem-solving & decision making skills, well-developed communication skills, program evaluation skills, and demonstrated leadership abilities. Job will have a start date of no sooner than 7/1/2026. Ability to work irregular hours is required.
