Embark Behavioral Health is seeking a dedicated Academic Coordinator to support the educational success of adolescents in a therapeutic, residential treatment environment. Nestled in the tranquil Tennessee mountains along the scenic Hiwassee River , our homelike campus provides a peaceful, nurturing environment where students ages 12-17 can heal, grow, and thrive. As part of a national leader in trauma‑informed, evidence‑based treatment, you will play a pivotal role in helping students rebuild confidence and reach their academic goals while supporting their emotional well‑being. This dynamic role blends academic planning, direct instruction, executive functioning support, and cross‑disciplinary collaboration; ideal for educators with strong organizational leadership, curriculum experience, and a passion for student advocacy.Responsibilities:
Coordinate weekly academic services and facilitate individualized academic plans in partnership with students, families, and home schools. Provide daily academic support , including one‑on‑one instruction and executive functioning coaching, to help students achieve their educational goals. Oversee academic testing; maintain complete student records; and support the development and implementation of IEPs and 504 Plans . Collaborate with clinical, residential, and academic teams to ensure academic plans support therapeutic goals and program success. Lead or support social‑emotional learning groups and communicate observed behaviors to the multidisciplinary treatment team. Maintain timely communication with parents, schools, and internal teams; submit all academic documentation within three days of student discharge. Assist the Academic Director with administrative tasks and work with the Program Director on classroom resources, technology, and academic budget planning .Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related teaching field (required). Direct classroom teaching experience; Special Education background preferred . Demonstrated expertise in writing IEPs and 504 Plans . Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience in therapeutic or behavioral settings is a plus.
