Position Summary The Associate Director of Financial Aid for Student Engagement provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for student-facing financial aid services, outreach, and engagement initiatives. This role is responsible for enhancing the student and family experience by ensuring clear communication, proactive outreach, and equitable access to financial aid resources. The Associate Director collaborates closely with campus partners to support student success, retention, and completion while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.
Job Responsibilities Student Engagement and Outreach:
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive student engagement strategy for financial aid, including outreach to prospective, current, and special population students (e.g., first-generation, low-income, transfer, adult learners).
  • Oversee financial aid communications, ensuring messaging is clear, accurate, timely, and student-centered across multiple platforms (email, website, social media, presentations, and events).
  • Coordinate and deliver financial aid workshops, information sessions, orientations, and financial literacy programming for students and families.
  • Serve as a primary advocate for the student experience within the Office of Financial Aid, using data and feedback to inform service improvements.
Leadership and Supervision:
  • Supervise and mentor professional and/or support staff responsible for student services, outreach, and front-line financial aid operations.
  • Establish priorities, manage workloads, and ensure processing deadlines are met.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements and technology enhancements to improve the student experience and operational efficiency.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and annual goal setting for the Office of Financial Aid.
  • Manage and evaluate third-party partnerships related to the financial aid student experience ensuring services align with institutional goals, compliance requirements, and student-centered values. Other Duties as Assigned Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in financial aid administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state financial aid regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience in student engagement, outreach, or customer service leadership.
  • Supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
