POSITION SUMMARY
The Admissions Manager provides strategic leadership and daily operational oversight for the admissions department. This role is responsible for supervising the Admissions Coordinator and the Admissions Administrative Assistant , ensuring that recruitment and enrollment targets for skilled trades (HVAC, electrical, and plumbing) and manufacturing programs are met across all Central Texas and regional locations. The Manager optimizes the student journey from initial inquiry to class placement, fostering a team environment dedicated to helping applicants make meaningful career decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor the Admissions Coordinator and Admissions Administrative Assistant, conducting regular check-ins to monitor outreach efforts and program applicant status.
Outreach Procurement:
Manage the budget and logistics for all outreach-related materials, including the selection and ordering of "swag," promotional items, and updated recruitment presentation materials.
Strategic Enrollment Management:
Develop and implement action plans with the team to establish timelines for pre-screening and enrollment processes for upcoming cohorts.
Data Integrity & Oversight:
Oversee the accuracy of the internal database (Airtable), ensuring student information, recruitment data, and class placements are tracked correctly.
Community & Partner Engagement:
Lead the team in raising awareness and establishing Skillpoint's presence at job fairs and community events; reinforce relationships with referral partners and community-based organizations.
Process Optimization:
Refine the "prescreening" and interview protocols to better assess applicant eligibility, job readiness, and potential for success.
Reporting:
Monitor recruitment trends and enrollment metrics to provide updates to leadership and potential funders regarding program growth and applicant flow.
Public Representation:
Serve as a lead presenter to community groups and partners, acting as an expert on Skillpoint's career opportunities and training pathways.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor's, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience in admissions and recruitment, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Technical Skills:
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and database software (Airtable experience strongly preferred).
Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to handle challenging interpersonal conversations and conduct professional public speaking.
Interpersonal:
High emotional intelligence and a proactive work ethic, with the ability to plan for goals several months in advance in a fast-paced environment.
Language:
Fluency in Spanish is strongly preferred. Compensation $68,000-$72,000 annual
