REQUIRED:
Master's Degree; and Professional Administrator, Mid-Management, Superintendent or Principal Certificate; T-TESS (Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System) and T-PESS (Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System) and ILD (Instructional Leadership Development) or AEL (Advancing Educational Leadership) training certificates. Five (5) years teaching experience.
PREFERRED
Bilingual-English/Spanish; Degree in Reading, Bilingual Education, or Curriculum and Instruction; Certification in more than one academic area. Experience as a Lead Teacher, Department Chairperson, or Curriculum Developer; and Strong knowledge base of TEKS. The role of the Dean of Instruction is to assist in providing leadership, coordination, and improvement in elementary school instructional programs, utilizing available expertise and leadership necessary for a well-rounded academic program to improve academic achievement on state-mandated assessments in a manner consistent with Board Policy and consistent with statutes of regulatory agencies. In addition, Elementary Dean will assist teachers in providing a quality and meaningful instructional program for At-Risk students by providing targeted and on-going researched-based professional development.
