Job Description

The Director, Workforce Education, Academic Outreach, and Lifelong Learning is responsible for fostering engaged and dynamic communities within CTC's service area while creating and implementing programs that support continuous learning opportunities for individuals of all ages. This role requires strategic leadership, program development, and relationship-building to enhance workforce education, academic outreach, and lifelong learning initiatives. Bachelor's degree from a nationally or regionally accredited university required. Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in workforce education, academic outreach, community engagement, and/or program development required. Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking abilities. Experience with budgeting, fundraising, and grant writing is a plus. Passion for education, workforce development, and lifelong learning. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to interact effectively with the public, students, faculty and college personnel, to include groups, organizations, businesses. Ability to develop educational and workforce courses and programs to meet workforce, community, and cultural needs. Ability to lead and work effectively within a team. Ability to organize and disseminate information. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multitask. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality Researches current programming trends, develops and implements a community needs assessment to determine target populations for specialized programs (workforce education, college for kids, lifelong learning (50+), career training, customized training, and online training.) Assists in analyzing, implementing, and monitoring the marketing plan for the division to include social media, community networking, course demonstrations, and outreach events. Oversees an advisory board twice per year to determine educational trends and gather recommendations for workforce and college for kids programming, lifelong learning opportunities (age 50+), and personal enrichment courses. Responds to community needs and the community at large by actively participating as a member of area chambers of commerce, civic groups, and Central Texas College committees. Assures the program and course offerings, delivery, and schedule meet the needs of students, community partners, and business and industry. Recruits, hires, supervises, schedules and evaluates a coordinator, program faculty and other assigned staff. Supports the implementation and oversight of assigned grants. Supports the unit in the tracking of data and compliance of MOUs and contracts. Other duties as assigned.
