Exempt Job Description:
This campus based position demonstrates the capacity to comprehend and support institutional enrollment objectives. Oversees specific departmental projects or initiatives and expected to think creatively and analytically about how best to fulfill these assigned tasks. Assist prospective students and their families during the admission process. Requires a set of strong interpersonal skills to effectively represent Trinity in a positive manner to both internal and external audiences. Interviews, provides information sessions and counsels prospective students and their parents during campus visits or travel. Visits high schools and attends college programs, representing Trinity to students, parents, counselors, teachers and administrators within assigned geographical areas. Evaluates and presents applicant files to the admissions committee. Corresponds with prospective students, applicants, and accepted students. Coordinates, plans and executes programs and projects, as assigned. Assists in implementation of receptions, conferences, workshops and dinners both on campus and throughout the country. Contacts alumni and Trinity students and parents to assist with recruitment programs within the locales of University constituents. Conducts on-campus recruiting and public relations activities utilizing Trinity administrators, faculty and students. Assists in checking on the status of applications for admissions, financial aid, and scholarships for prospective students. Participates in other admissions activities and responsibilities, which may include work ordinarily performed by other staff, student workers, or student volunteers, as required. Such activities may include mailings, reception desk coverage and leading tours when student workers are not available. Represents the Office of Admissions at professional gatherings and meetings often includes evenings and weekends, as required.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Cooperates and collaborates with other employees in the spirit of teamwork and collegiality and interacts with confidence, patience and integrity to provide professional leadership during emergencies. Complies with all Trinity University policies and guidelines. Performs other duties as required. This is a campus based position.
EDUCATION
Required:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
EXPERIENCE
Required:
1 year to 3 years professional experience. Prior knowledge or experience related to the admissions profession.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required:
Ability to quickly learn the university, as well as admissions and financial aid procedures and policies, and accurately present information to prospective students, parents, and high school counselors. Excellent communication skills and the ability to persuasively communicate the value of Trinity's education to various constituencies. Strong technical skills and the ability to learn Slate and Workday. Initiative, creativity, and strong organizational and supervisory skills to develop programs and promote Trinity to various constituencies. Ability to write well and speak effectively to individuals and large groups of prospective students and their parents, high school counselors, alumni, current Trinity students and their parents, as well as Trinity administrators and faculty. Strong work ethic. Flexibility and composure when work becomes extremely busy. Appreciation for teamwork. Demonstrate the ability to supervise and manage student employees. Willingness and ability to travel internationally fall, summer, and spring for student recruitment.
Preferred:
Fluency in Spanish International Admissions experience.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
Valid US drivers license and ability and willingness to drive a rental vehicle. Valid passport and ability and willingness to travel internationally for university business.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
All jobs require a current Criminal Background Check (CBC). Willingness to contribute evening and weekend hours.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. Ability to use stairs without assistance. Ability to stand for extended periods of time during recruitment events. Ability and willingness to receive vaccinations required by foreign governments for travel, including but not limitedto Yellow Fever and typhoid.
