Provide executive leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of the district's Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Advanced Academics programs, including Gifted and Talented (GT), Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Credit, and Early College High School. Serve as the senior instructional leader for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of programs that ensure rigorous, equitable, and accessible learning pathways for all students. Lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of aprehensive College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) program aligned to the district's strategic plan, ensuring that every student graduates prepared for postsecondary success.
Job Summary:
Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Management 1. Oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of innovative career and technical education (CTE) and Advanced Academics programs, ensuring curriculum documents, instructional materials, student assessments, and admission criteria are current and responsive to student needs. 2. Provide strategic leadership and oversight of Advanced Academics programs, including Gifted and Talented (GT), Pre-AP, Advanced Placement (AP), Dual Credit, OnRamps, and Early College High School, ensuring rigorous, coherent, and aligned pathways from elementary through high school. 3. Establish and maintain partnerships with institutions of higher education, includingmunity colleges and four-year universities, to expand dual credit, articulated credit, and early college opportunities for students. 4. Lead the development and continuous improvement of CTE programs of study, career pathways, and industry-based certifications aligned with state-approved frameworks, regional workforce demand, and TEA accountability indicators. 5. Evaluate program effectiveness across CTE and Advanced Academics using student achievement, AP/dual credit performance, certification attainment, and other data to drive continuous improvement and ensure student progress is monitored and used to strengthen programs. 6. Identify and promote local career opportunities for students by recruiting business and industry partners and expanding work-based and experiential learning opportunities. 7. Establish and maintain strong business and education partnerships aligned with the district's strategic goals for College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR). 8. Direct and manage CTE facilities, ensuring equipment and materials are available, properly maintained, and support effective instruction. 9.Provide campuses with career exploration resources and ensure equitable access to CCMR tools and supports, including rmendations for the purchase, replacement, and repair of equipment. 10. Collaborate with counselors, principals, and district staff to determine CCMR goals, objectives, and priorities aligned with the district's strategic plan. 11. Coordinate and support career pathway development, certification programs, and college and career readiness initiatives, including the administration of college entrance exams and distribution of results. 12. Develop and manage the CCMR budget based on identified needs, ensuring cost-effective operations and responsible use of funds. 13. Ensurepliance with all federal and state laws, State Board of Education rules, board policies, and district procedures. 14. Serve as the district's primary liaison and grant manager for Perkins V, dual credit MOUs, and other state and federal CTE and advanced academic funding sources, ensuring effective use of funds andpliance with reporting requirements. 15. Lead the strategic identification, equitable access, and academic support of students in advanced and gifted programs, ensuring representation reflective of the district's student demographics. 16. Collaborate with the Chief Academic Officer and other district leaders on long-range planning, accountability oues, and strategic initiatives that advance the district's academic vision. Student Management 17. Implement district student-management policies and ensure enforcement of the Student Code of Conduct and the student handbook. 18. Establish and maintain open lines ofmunication with parents, students, and teachers. Policy, Reports, and Law 19. Implement the policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy. Rmend sound policies to improve career and technology education. 20. Compile, maintain, file, and present reports, records, and other documents required. 21. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures. Budget and Inventory 22. Develop and administer budget based on documented needs and ensure that operations are cost effective and funds are managed wisely. 23. Maintain a current inventory of supplies and equipment and rmend the disposal and replacement of equipment when necessary. Approve and forward purchase orders for department to accounting department. Personnel Management 24. Prepare, re, and revise job descriptions within the career and technical education (CTE) and College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) programs. 25. Recruit, inter, select, train, supervise, and evaluate CTE and CCMR staff, and make rmendations regarding assignment, retention, discipline, and dismissal in collaboration with campus principals. 26. Develop and implement training, professional development, orientation, and certification programs to ensure the effective operation and continuous improvement of CTE and CCMR programs. Communication and Community Support 27. Assist students, parents, and teachers with career, college, and scholarship information. 28. Use appropriate and effective techniques to encouragemunity and parent involvement. Other 29. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required. 30. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise and evaluate career and technical education (CTE) and campus College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) staff, including instructional staff, aides, and support personnel, and make rmendations regarding hiring, assignment, and termination.
