Posting Details Position Information Posting Number S06893P Position Title Assistant Director for Residence Life Department Residence Life Division Location Arlington Position Status Full-time Work Schedule Monday-Friday; 8:00am-5:00pm. Participates in a 24-hour emergency on-call rotation. Some nights, weekends, and holidays may be required. Salary Salary is commensurate based on qualifications and relevant experience. Pay Basis Monthly Job Summary The Assistant Director for Residence Life is responsible for managing on-campus housing operations, including supervising staff, handling administrative tasks, collaborating with university departments, and supporting student initiatives. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provides direct supervision to full-time staff members. Recruits, selects, trains, and evaluates full-time department staff members. Completes administrative paperwork and reports including approvals of procurement cards, absence reports, and long distance phone logs. Prepares annual reports for their area of oversight. Oversees and manages budgets. Collaborates with Health Services, University Programs, Academic Affairs, and Counseling Services on departmental programming and student learning initiatives. Works closely with Facilities Management, Dining Services, Conference Services, Mav Express, and Housing to ensure positive student experience and satisfaction. Provides 24 hour on-call support to Apartment and Residence Life staff. Works closely with University Police and Environmental Health and Safety for staff training, response to incidents, and life safety response. Advises and provides oversight to departmental committees and initiatives such as Recruitment, Training, and Community Development and Learning. Serves on Division of Student Affairs and University-wide committees. Regularly collaborates with areas within the Division of Student Affairs. Provides regular updates to the Behavioral Intervention Team regarding students in their area. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Master's degree in student personnel, higher education administration or equivalent experience with three (3) years, full-time post masters work in housing administration with increasing levels of responsibility. Preferred Qualifications Experience supervising full-time Residence Directors or equivalent.
