Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Social Studies Teacher to inspire students in grades 7 through 12. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a love for history. The ideal candidate will bring energy, innovation, and a commitment to educational excellence, creating engaging lessons that connect scientific concepts to real-world applications. You will play a vital role in guiding students through their academic journey, preparing them for higher education and future careers. Candidates should have an interest in interdisciplinary and project based/inquiry based teaching. Duties Develop and deliver comprehensive social studies curricula aligned with educational standards and tailored to diverse learning styles. Design engaging lesson plans that incorporate hands-on and inquiry based projects. Utilize modern learning technology and instructional design principles to enhance classroom engagement and facilitate interactive learning experiences. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support growth. Manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering an inclusive environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and respect among students. Mentor students academically and personally, offering guidance on research projects, science competitions, and college preparation. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, extracurricular activities, and school-wide initiatives to community. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies/History Education or a related field.. Proven classroom experience teaching middle or high school social studies with a strong understanding of curriculum development and instructional design. Familiarity with educational technology tools for instruction and assessment; experience integrating learning technology into lesson plans is highly desirable. Strong communication skills for effective instruction, mentoring, parent engagement, and collaboration with staff. Ability to manage classroom behavior proactively while maintaining a positive learning environment. Experience working with diverse student populations including special education needs. Commitment to ongoing professional development through research participation, curriculum refinement, or higher education teaching opportunities.
Pay:
$53,700.00 - $93,400.00 per year
