Company DescriptionKIPP Delta Public Schools operates tuition-free, open-enrollment college-preparatory charter schools in the Arkansas Delta, serving over 1,000 students in Helena and Blytheville. Through a rigorous PreK-12 program and an asset-based approach, KIPP empowers students to discover their purpose and expand regional opportunities.
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated, student-centered Secondary Teacher to join our faculty for the 2025-26 school year. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering a rigorous and inclusive learning environment, empowering students to master core competencies while preparing them for college, career, and community leadership.
Instructional ExcellenceCreate engaging, standards-aligned lessons that challenge students to think critically and solve complex problems within your subject area. Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students.
Utilize modern Ed technology and digital tools to enhance instruction and prepare students for a tech-driven world.
Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback and adjustments.Classroom Culture & ManagementEstablish and maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and respects all students.
Use proactive classroom management techniques to maximize instructional time and promote positive student behavior.
Professionalism & CollaborationCollaborate with peers to develop interdisciplinary connections and share high-leverage teaching strategies.
Participate in ADE-required professional development and stay current with pedagogical research and state standards.
Maintain transparent and consistent communication with parents and guardians regarding student achievement and holistic well-being.
Institutional SupportMentor students through academic and personal growth milestones, including recommendations for post-secondary opportunities.
Support school-wide initiatives such as student recruitment, community events, and the development of school culture.
Additional tasks as requested to support student achievement, school culture, and team collaboration.
QualificationsBachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
Valid Arkansas Standard Teaching License in the relevant subject area for grades 7-12. Eligibility for licensure through reciprocity or an Alternative Licensure Program (ALP) is acceptable.
Prior teaching experience at the secondary level is preferred.
Must pass all state and federal background checks, including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks.
Strong content mastery and a passion for the subject matter.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with adolescents.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a significant plus.
